What is with children these days?

I don't know if someone did a post on this or not already. I checked but didn't see anything but honestly what is wrong with children lately. They seem to be more disobediant, rude and not as smart and looks like it's getting worse. My mother and I went shopping at Dots and while at the register, this 13-15 year old girl was fighting with her mother at the store. The girl wanted this purse and mother said no, she didn't have the money for it. The girl demands her mother to get the purse. The girl basically orders her mother to get the purse and the mother does get the purse. At the store, a younger boy had a tantrum because his parents wouldn't get him some cookies. He starts yelling out curse words and calling his parents horrible words and they both say they're sorry and buy him cookies. What are they apologizing for? If I ever acted like that when I was younger my mother wouldv'e done some stuff that they consider child abuse now. Why is becoming a trend to see children this way?
