I love my country, since I was born this is where I learned everything from simple to the most complicated matters in life. But now, since more and more politicians are becoming extravagant, my beloved country is now in the edge of corruption, injustice, rebellions and uncontrol economic reduction. I cannot blame my "kababayan" dreaming of leaving our land. Malnutrition, human rights violation and never ending political chaos are mostly the daily concern and issue and yet politician have the guts to deny the fact.
Can anyone live the country slowly lossing its dignity? Can anyone hear the little voices of poor individual who are most affected by our economic downfall?
One of these days, I can see, no one is interested at all. Everyone is concerned of earning money to make a living, only a few is interested to silently devout time to pray and lend a hand to the indigenous kababayan.
Even in the conversation, forums and blogs, the most talk about things are money, popularity, lovelife, and other irrelevant topics. WE TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN WHICH WILL MAKE US POPULAR AND EARN MONEY BUT WE DESPISED THE TOPIC THAT INVOLVES US AND WILL BRING US TO BE AWAKEN BY THE REALITY

I hear your heartfelt plea & you are right. It's also true to a greater or lesser extent of every country in the world. The Philippines (the name itself tells a story, referring as it does to King Philip of Spain) suffered at the hands of exploitative imperial powers, Spain & America. To the former it owes its inheritance of the Catholic religion, which, depending on your point of view (religion is the opium of the people?) is a curse or a blessing.

Life is about survival and even if we are humans, the people compete to make the fittest survive. You can't tolerate hunger, poverty, illness. We leave our lands to make comfortable living. Many got themselves corrupted but they will reap what they sow in the end.
