My sister is 42 and I am 32. We have never been close. There is a gap in our age but we just are so different. Growing up she took care of me a good bit and I think thats where all of it started, she resented that. Once I was older she was moving out of the house to go to college. She lives an hour away and we both always find excuses why we can't see each other. I feel like I am always the one to make the drive to her house and I get tired of that. I am very open with my feelings and she keeps everything inside and doesn't like to talk about it, so no success there. Should I just continue to be the one to make the effort and go up there?

The only things we really regret are the things we didnt do. I am very happy that you are making the effort to maintain a relationship. If it is truly important to you, maybe you should continue. I think you and your sister should watch that movie "27 dresses" that came out Tuesday on DVD together. In the movie, the two sisters had somewhat of the same relationship. It would be good for you two to laugh and watch a good movie together, and at the same time it might spark some conversation about your relationship! =) Hope it helped a little!
