Confucius said,'Do not impose on others what you do not desire yourself.' How we should behave ourselves when getting along with others is an important question. Confucius once said the above sentence when his students asked about humanity. And this saying became classic and was taught every generation thereafter. Thought it was said almost 2500 years ago, it still serves as a useful principle to deal with relationship with people around in the modern time. How do you think of this? Do you do this accordingly?

It sounds a lot like the Christian Golden Mean - "Do onto others as you would have others do onto you.". I think there is probably a similar ethic at the basis of every great religion.

Confucius was a very wise man. I believe that if everyone would think about that particular quote, we'd have a lot less trouble in the world! My government (U.S.) should take that one to heart and also mind their own business and that would probably take care of the rest of the world's troubles!

As a matter of fact, I love this saying very much. This is a famous Chinese proverb, and I learn it when I was very young. This told us that when you do not want something, someone else may do not want it, either, so it is not right for you to impose this to others. I admire this great philosopher a lot.
