Earnings on Helium, dropping and dropping!

The last couple of months on Helium have been very frustrating. The earnings have dropped to a penny or a two per day, which is really really depressing. Without absolutely any reason at all, it seems like the numbers on the earnings page aren't moving at all! Anybody else also feels that Helium earnings have dropped without any reason at all?

Do you continue to write new articles or is it just your old articles that are earning less? I think the latest articles get viewed more, so you need to keep writing to keep adding to your earnings. I am writing and rating more to try and increase my earnings as I sold an article for $10 and I have to earn more to reach payout. I think I will try more contests and marketplace articles to try and get some more money. I will also try to promote my articles as I think this is the only way to get them to earn more.

I have been writing and rating regularly, wrote 5 articles last week. But the earnings still don't seem to be moving ahead, hardly one penny a day!

Yes, I have started to notice this same thing. For this reason, I have not been posting articles on there so much anymore. I have been doing much better earnings-wise on Associated Content.

Way kewl on AC. I didn't know they paid page views for international members. That is great! I only write for page views anyway, as in my view it is easier to use ReviewStream for up front payments. Helium could be a great resource, but they seem to be getting too inbred.

I got fed up with Helium. I have been much more successful getting page views on AC.

I very seldom write there any more, but I checked my earnings a few days ago and noticed that the rate of earning seemed to be slowing a lot. I thought it was because I hadn't been active, but maybe not?

Hi serenidity. I, too, have noticed Helium's daily pay rate slowing down. I wonder if they re-did their earnings formulas during the Rewardathon, maybe thinking that people wouldn't notice if they were writing alot more articles. (That's just a theory...) Anyway, alot of people there are getting pretty discouraged. In response to that, Helium just started another way to give members more money. Members will earn additional pay on their articles for the next six months, provided they have at least 1 writing star and 1 rating star on the last day of the month. How many writing stars you have determines what percentage of increase on your earnings you will receive. I do still see it as a viable place to write, although I just have limited experience with Constant Content, Triond, Associated Content, and PrintnPost. I hope I explained that okay. You may want to investigate it further on the home page at Helium. I write there under the name of Rita Chaney if you would like to check me out. Happy writing and take care.

I know you wrote this a few weeks ago but Helium is revamping it's payment system hopefully you got an email on this. It is an OK site, but I like other sites better Shared Reviews is a good site and you can share in wealth made by community.

I feel really let down by Helium. I have written nearly 50 aricles there, and have made like $6.00 if I had posted those same articles on Associated Content I would made a lot more. I did a lot of work for nothing there in my opinion as I can't even collect my lousy $6.00 because you can't cash out until you have $25.00 at this rate I might be able to cash out by Christmas 2009.

I have just joined helium and was now preparing to put in my articles here but your discussions seems to change my mind. I would be basically putting up articles on cost management. Do you think i should go ahead or should i quit this site.

I feel frustrated right now because whenever I go to Helium, I can't log in. The log in page never finishes. It's really exasperating. Has anyone have this same experience? And so I can't log in and check my earnings or rate or write! Sigh. I'm from the Philippines and so I haven't been able to try AC either, although I hear it's a really great site to contribute to. I can't sign up in AC for some reason either. It's mindboggling really.

I agree. Helium is making me angry now. One year ago it wasn't anywhere near as complicated as it is now. Very frustrating. It hardly seems worth the effort to write there anymore. However, I will give it a few more months before I take my business elsewhere.
