why do people get fat?

For the most part people get fat because they consume too many calories and don't burn them off.

as we grow old we become less active and the quantity of food we take remains the same.this tends to put on weight and people get fat.

There are the obvious answers: eating toomuch, not exercising..... Then there are the more serious things, eating disorders/ addictions. These things are beyond me, but they are sad... people who are 500 pounds... totally out of control....

People get fat either because they don't read the bible enough or they have emotional problems. It's just that simple. Oh, and purple monkeys eat grey flowers...pass it on!

It is different for different people. Some people eat alot but they didn't get fat on the other hand few people eat very less even than they get fat . Maximum people generally don't do exercise or don't do yoga. Few people generally don't control their eating habits and get fats.

Firstly, it is due to constitution of the body. Some people if they eat little more they put on weight. Secondly, it is due to eating habits - they eat rich foods which have fats - sweets, fried stuff etc. Thirdly, people do not find time to do exercises. Exerticses are required from childhood. There are poeple who say, due to their occupation, they walk a lot. This will not become exercise. One of the best exercises is Walking. The greatest is swimming. If one can walk for 4-5 kilometres in the morning, and 1 hour swimming in the evening, you donot have to go to doctor, nor you will need to visit chemist shop. EAT LESS, THE GATES OF PARADISE ARE NARROW.

Of late, people eat while watching TV. They donot know what they are consuming, how much they are consuming. In fact they over eat resulting in they getting fat day by day. Besides this, they do no exercises at all or exercises are not sufficient. Walking is best exercise (if possible jogging). Yoga is another type where one can exericse to reduce the fat.

Because they eat too much and dont exercise. Also having babies can contribute to it.
