I love the sound of the waves crashing upon the beach whether I'm laying out in the summer sun, or beneath a green-leafed tree, or during any time of year. When I hear wave crashing on the beach, it always reminds me of summer (no matter what time of the year it happens to be). So, what is your favorite sound and why? Do you like to hear the ice cream truck? Babies cry? Toddlers laugh? What sound is your favorite?

Hmm, I adore the deep, yet small chirping sounds of birds in the wild solitude. This melodious sound, under the clear blue sky, with faint wind blowing.. Its simply amazing, there can't be anything that sounds better than this, to my ears :)

I wish I could agree with you on that one, but I guess it depends on the bird and/or the noise that they're making. Some of those bird chirps are annoying.

Hi Dmillman.......... My favorite sound is hearing all my kids, when they come to visit all at the same time, I just love it! You know the feeling of putting your lil'-one to bed, and knowing that they are safe?, kinda the same thing. Just having them all home together, hearing them talk to each other, laughing about silly things from the past, etc... That's the most awesome sound for my ears. Awwwwwww, makes me want to tear up, cause I miss all of them right now. Great disscusion, by the way. Have a good evening, or day depending on where you are on the map. Marilyn

Thanks for posting Marilyn. I don't have kids, so I wouldn't know about those sounds, but I'm gad that it's so happy for you.

Sound of unending waves do attract me. I find that it is so mesmisring and magical that I do not wish to move from beach. In my city there is no sea, but whenever I get an opportunity to visit a coastal city, I do make it a point, to spend some hours on a sea beach. Recently, I went to a coastal city, there I spent hours together sitting alone a beach listening to music and I enjoyed myself so much that I cannot express my enjoyment in words.

I also love to hear waves crashing against the shore. I went to Palm Beach in Australia and on the ocean side I heard the waves dancing upon the sand. On the national park I liked the gentle waves bouncing on to the beach. I will never forget the wonderful nights I spent in fales, traditional beach buildings in Samoa. I heard the waves crash against the shore and felt a soft breeze. It was so magical an experience. Paddling along a sandy beach, hearing the waves crashing is a lovely experience. I like to hear birds singing and chattering and their sounds are a favorite too.

I have one that is better than others. The sound of my daughters laughter. She is almost 5 and has a wonderful sense of humor. It is like angel bells for me. Her laugh makes me smile. And I feel I am raising a happy child.

That's a nice sound in general - laughter, because it means that someone is having a good time. We need more laughter in the world.

I'm a "nature" person and I love sounds related with nature, you know, the chirps of birds, the sound of water, the sound of rain. My favorite would be the sound of rushing water from the waterfall.. It's really soothing to hear.

Oh yea, I forgot about the waterfall sounds. I love to hear the sound of waterfalls. They are very soothing, like you said. Thanks for commenting.
