Allergies Bothering You?

I'm allergic to grass, so take a shower when coming into the house. I take medication when sneezing is a big problem. How many of you get allergy shots? It sure is fast relief for me when I'm really feeling terrible. If you need to mow the lawn, then you might try wearing a pollen mask and gloves. The mask can help when vacuuming and dusting also. You may still feel terrible, but it does help me.

I have allergies. I don't take allergy tabs or shots, I got a prescription from the doctor for nasal spray. I had to use it this morning, I woke up all clogged up, and it made me be able to breathe again. When I smell rain, I start to sneeze a lot! I am glad the doctor gave me something for it

I am glad that the doctor helped you. Yeah, the prescription you had for nasal spray hopefully helped you deal with sinus problems. I have had sinus pressure and headache sometimes.

My pretty plant - This is one of my blooming plants.
I love to be outdoors also. The flowers are blooming and the grass is growing fast. I'm considering hiring somebody to mow the grass regularly.

These are very good tips, I will pass them on to my friends. I am fortunate in that I do not suffer from allergies but I do suffer from so many other things.

Thanks for the reply. My allergies are bothering me today, so decided to post them. My neighbor was mowing the lawn when I went outside for the mail.

I suffer from a lot of allergies actually. I don't get shots though. I have had prescription medicines for them but most haven't worked. I found one that did but it's so expensive and i can't afford it. I just use benadryl which I can get fairly cheap, thank goodness . It also works for the most part. Of course it makes me sleepy as well. It's great in helping me to sleep but during the day I try not to take it because I don't want to sleep all the time.

You're quite welcome. I hate falling asleep during the day and today it happened without taking any medication. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Would hate to have seen how I'd have been with benadryl.

I can understand not wanting to take medication in the middle of the day. It makes me sleepy also. Thanks for the reply.

I'm allergic to dust and any small particles. I get sniffy when dusting the house or when visiting a place that's not been vacuumed. I didn't have allergy shots as it's not that bad really. Well, I used to have skin allergy related to water like swimming pool, lakes, falls. I couldn't enjoy these body of waters because I would always get that dreaded skin allergy after. But later it disappeared and now I could go swimming anywhere.

I have troubles with skin allergies and have to avoid latex gloves. They make me itch. I'm glad you don't have to avoid bodies of water, as swimming is a lot of fun. Thanks for the reply.

Well, I had to have those shots, pills and topical creams all at the same time. It cost a lot. But I think it's the E.Excel product that really help me get rid of the allergy.

We've had allergy weather here for quite awhile now. The cars were coated with pollen a month or so ago. I am on the sprays and claritin now. In fact, I had to go on prednisone last week, I got so bad. I don't get shots - my last doctor didn't recommend then with the asthma. I take a shower when I come in and at least before bedtime for sure, I think i's a bother and ideally would take more than I do probably. We're having winds again which means all the stuff will be stirred up all over again. I'm turning on the air conditioner and I hate to do that.

Shots would sure not be a good idea with asthma troubles. My daughter had asthma and allergies when she was little. She was one of the lucky ones to outgrow asthma, but her allergies are now worse, as she has a long list of foods she can no longer eat. Sorry to hear about the winds.

I have terrible allergy problems-- but not as bad as you it sounds- It doesn't bother me to clean the house. It does bother me to be outside when people are mowing their lawns-- and cats also bother me- but only if I touch them and then rub my eyes. I just take OTC Advil Cold and Sinus and I'm set. Some days are worse then others- but usually the meds take care of it. I have never gotten shots- and hope it never gets to that point :( I hate needles.

Sometimes I get sinus pressure and headache. I do not know what allergies I do have. But hopefully it is not that much. Especially it is due to pollen. I sneeze a lot. Especially dust that causes the allergies, especially when I do dust around the area and vacuum. Overall, however, I do not have much allergies at all.

I find avoiding my food allergies to be easier to avoid. Presently, I take medication only part of the year, so do have many under control. Today is one of those days where I woke up sneezing.

i am not only allergic to grass but also to pollens. my method is that identify the specific flower pollen that you recognize to trigger your allergic reactions and try to avoid that flower, or when you do see them and you can smell them, hold your breathe until you cant smell them anymore, or, cover your mouth and nose with thick mask, or more convinently, you sleeve
