I once had a problem like this. The boss was all but outwardly abusive to me. I took it to a higher authority and at first they did nothing. However when I had finally had enough I threatened to get a lawyer because of the harrassment and call the better business bureau. This seemed to get the attention I desired. I was transferred to a different department and he was let go. I don't know if this will work in your situation but there is NO excuse for harrassing an employee. If you feel harrassed or abused you MUST continue to persue this. Be ready to change jobs if need be but don't let this boss treat you poorly because that is an abuse of power.

How valuable is this job to you? I agree that the threat of a lawyer is good, using the terms that send red flags to every human resources department. Surely there is a little dirt on this person that would put him in his place.

why don't you record secretly what was going on with you and your boss. then present it to the management as evidence. by then, they might solve your problem. one thing though, you might just be careful after office hours, you know, your boss might be waiting for you outside. if i were you, i'll just resign from that job, even if it means jobless for a couple of weeks or months. there's nothing like a peace of mind.

You should go to the person who is above your boss in the company. If that doesn't work, keep going up the chain of command until something is done. No one should have to put up with being mistreated at work, especially by their boss.
