my history teacher was taking about africans and said that africans got whiter and then kicked those people out and over time they crossed to america whrer it was once connected. it broke up over time and people forgot about those people that crossed. they made thier own civilization and own religion.

I vaguely remember covering the skn pigmentation in my anthropolgy class...and it also has to do with the proximity of the Africans and the equator (or maybe that was just a theory) and as for how people became white. Maybe the DNA changed...I have to admit I am ignorant to this and will check it out. But at least I am not as ignorant as that teacher....I bet that teacher thinks Darwin was a monkey.

shynest, I think you need a better teacher. Yes, there is proof that the first humans started in Africa but when the weather started to change many of the people moved across the world as they knew it. As for your stupid teacher( I don't use that word often but in this case I will) If the people got whiter how come Africans are black and the people in the America's are red or brown. Only in Europe were there white people

Errrm....Kind of....
The people didn't just get white. As they migrated the color of their skin changed pigments to better suit their environment, the same way that people from the north tend to be stockier. They aren't because skinny and slim people kicked them out, they are stocky because up north it is colder and the natives evolved to be more heat conservative.
But yes, all evidence points to people evolving in Africa and migrating from there.
