e-portal websites

Does anyone know any e-portal websites? I am doing a research for my papers about e-portals, something like linking communities of a same nature together. For example, let's say education e-portals, linking the education ministry, schools, colleges, universities, prospective employer, scholarships, etc. I need to look at the few e-portals website there are in the internet and choose one for my research paper. If anyone know of such website, please do help me. Thanks in advance.
