I'm Going To A 25th Wedding Anniversary This Weekend & Would Like To Share

with you all the gifts I have choosen. Many of you gave me some great ideas about what to buy when I asked this question a few weeks ago so I have uploaded a pic of what I have bought for the lovely couple. Do you think I made a good choice? Congratulations to the couple, I thinks its admirable that they have been married this long. I have bought a handmade sandstone statue of a loveing couple and as it is their Silver Wedding Anniversary managed to find a beautiful double heart shaped silver picture frame. It also shows that even with all the divorce rates some couples make it so it gives hope to us all eh! Ellie:D

Love that awesome statue..and i'd like it just for myself and i'm not married anymore..LOL..you did a great job of picking this present out and from now on when i need a gift i'm coming to you!
My parents were married for 51 yrs. and then he passed..she's remarried to a friend of their's and has been another 13 yrs married..I'm so happy for my Mom!

Hi Rosekitty, I am so pleased you like it. I reckon we should both get ourselves one of these to encourage a loving man into our lives eh, or just because we like the statue. Wow fifty one years that is over half a century, sorry about the loss of your dad but it is lovely that your mum has found another loving partner for so mnay years also. Heres to keeping good marriages alive and happy and for the ones that did fail it really does give hope doesn't it eh! Thanks for sharing. Congratulations to your mum. Ellie :D

Hi Littleowl, I am pleased you like my choice. I am almost tempted to buy myself a similar statue, it may tempt a loving man into my life eh! 
they say your needs are always met somehow and I did get the money for the carpet so you never know! I haven't ordered it yet, going to have a look around and get the best quality for the least price I think. Ellie :D

I agree and truly appreciate couple who made it that far or more farther!But, we also can't blame those who ended up their relationship since it was for the best for sure! Have a great time posting ellie!

I think it is a wonderful choice, I would love to have something as beautiful as that, but alas, my marriage only lasted for 4 years before it broke up. I have been with my boyfriend 8 years now, that is double the time I was married.

Oh thanks Winterose I am pleased you like my choice. I appreciate you all helping with the decision, I managed to get silver in the photo frame and to find a double heart one, I was thrilled and I hope they will be. I am not in a relationship right now but I have had longer relationships in the past than my marriage also. Eight years is a long time to be with one person too and I think any relationship these days that last years rather than months is admirable as people need to work at them not walk away from them eh!. That is a lovely gift to give. It isn't a standard gift at all, it is original and thoughtful for sure. My parents are getting ready to celebrate their 33rd anniversary. I know my mom said the first ten years were the hardest. My dad was not the best husband in the world, but she said she kept praying, and he started to change. My dad never was mean, but he kind of expected her to do more things than she was capable of. He hadn't had a great example for a dad growing up, and he had started repeating the pattern.

Thanks AmbiePam, I think they will love them too. I have known both for many years, one since I was five years old so know their taste quite well. In fact I wouldn't mind buying a similar statue for myself, you never know it may encourage a loving partner into my life eh! LOL. Thirty three years is a long time to be married and your mum deserves a medal for riding the sotrm for the first ten years. Well done your mum and congratulations to both your parents. Hi Congratualtions on being married so long yourselves I really do think it is admirable. In fact I am attending a wedding later this month too and the couple have requested donations to a local charity as they already have everything. A cruise sounds wonderful, I wanted to work one the cruise liners when I was younger. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D

They are lovely presents that you have chosen, and I love the sculptures of the couple they are nice those sorts of things and I am sure that they will be really pleased with your gifts. It is an achievement these days to remain married that long, I think that if I make it to 25 years then I would definately be celebrating. As it is at the moment we will have made it to 7 years in June, so not too bad.

Thank you, I think they will like them too. I am going to find a picture of them to put in the frames also that I have in my archives from years ago as an added touch. Congratualtions on seven years, that is an achievement too as relationships are never easy and to stay strong that long through lifes ups and down is fantastic and also to still be happy eh! Ellie :D
