My cousin asked me to do her a favor

Her daughter is in dance and just made the varsity cheer leading team YAY! Tonight is her daughters last dance program of the year. It is also the night of the MANDATORY parents meeting for cheer leading. Of course, they happen to be at the same time. She emailed the cheer leading coach to ask if she could skip it and just talk to her later, she explained why. She also explained that the father would also be at the dance thing. The coach said no. So she asked me if I would be her in the meeting tonight. Now my cousin and I are very close.. like sisters.. people even say we look alike; we are 362 days apart (of course we don't see it) I told her I would do it. She assured me that she doesn't know any of the parents of the other girls on the team, so I shouldn't have to worry about someone coming up to me and talking to me. My question is, have you, or would you do something like this for a friend or family member?

I do not know if I would or not to be honest! Pretending to be someone else is not something that I could do and feel comfortable with, I would be petrified I would make a mess of it or someone would know!! But I guess that if you are happy about doing it for her and you know that you can pull it off then thats cool, I would do it if I thought that I could!!

Believe me.. I thought about all of those things before I told her I would do it. I am like you, afraid I will mess it up. Oh well.. if the coach wasn't such an inconciderate &%$%& I wouldn't be doing it. I am happy to help her out... she would do it for me in a heartbeat if I needed her. Wish me luck!

If I am available and have nothing to do, I would surely do it in their behalf. Honestly, I have not done this ever but I am certain that if the time comes, I would grab the opportunity as well. Meeting new people and enjoying life are my major concerns.

I've never been in that spot so I really can't say. I do know that I would be so nervous of getting caught. I mean I'd have to think ahead. Sooner or later the coach is bound to meet the real mom or run into her at another function or one of the games. I think these things have a way of coming back around to bite you.

I would gladly do this for a family member.. It is such a little thing and makes for a much greater relationship between the two of you.. Good luck and have fun..

I would do it especially if you know if you were in a bind and she would do it for you. I know she doesn't want to miss her daughter's performance, I wouldn't want to do that either. Now if this is both school activity, why didn't the cheerleader coach change the time of the meeting or change the date? I hate when things like that happen. Good Luck at the meeting

I would do it although I think the cheerleading coach is being unreasonable! She could have set up a seperat time to talk with your cousin she had a very good excuse as to why she couldn't make it. Good for you for helping out.

I have had a friend of mines sweet talking boyfriend pretend to be my brother once and my husband another time while I was arguing with Circuit City to get them to give me credit for their 110% price match guarantee. We work well together. I am the crazy woman who is all p!ssed off and he is the calming smiling flirting with the female associate who can't seem to say no to him. I got a 52" rear projection TV for $400 thanks to him! But I don't think I could ever successfully impersonate one of my friends. If I did they would not be looked at the same by whoever it was I was pretending to be them in front of.
