I know what I think it is, and I have good reason too - but what about you? Do you have theories of your own - or did you read it somewhere... Have you guess or are their clues in the film.
Let me know what you think :)

I spoke with someone who actually read the book, so this is second hand information at best, but the theory is it is Marsellus Wallace's soul. That is why it glows. If you get anything from this post, it is that to better understand the movie one should read the book. Which I haven't unfortunately. Hope that helps.

That was my theory! No I haven't read the book because I didn't know there was one I'm afraid - I shall look for it! There's another clue in the film towards that theory too, do yo uknow it...?

I really haven't seen Pulp Fiction in ages...my wife can't stand all the jumping around, I think it gives her headaches...no I do not know the other clue, but I would like to hear it. The other movie I loved way back when Pulp Fiction was big was Natural Born Killers. That was a Tarantino (sp?) screenplay directed by Oliver Stone. I thought that all the camera angles and odd effects were amazing, and there are so many messages you can read into that story.
On the other hand, I was watching Hair Spray with my wife the other night. John Travolta plays a woman! His/her job is doing laundry for people, and one of his lines goes something like this...."If you want to be famous learn how to get bloodstains out of a cadillac, that's a skill you can take to the bank!" He even has a scene where his character dances like him in Pulp Fiction. Very amusing.

That is cool - intertextual references. I haven't seen either film though, to be honest I don't watch as many as I'd like to!
The clue is the plaster on the back of his neck - way back when that's how they 'extracted' the soul.

The diamonds that was stolen in the "Reservoir Dogs", the same case that Mr. Pink gets away from the Reservoir Dogs' warehouse in the ending sequence.
Oh, you can observe the diamonds' reflection on Travolta's face! (on Pulp Fiction).

I also heard that it was Marcelus Walace's soul. It may be true or not true, I'm not sure. I heard it from a guy, that heard it from a guy, etc. I like the diamond theory though, I've never heard that one, but it does make sense.
