Do you misspell certain words everytime you type them?

For example, I always type 'taht' instead of that. I type 'becuase' rather than because. I type 'knknow' for know. More errors _ 'thre' and not there. At least I know most of the words I type wrong so I watch out for them. It's easy writing in 'word' because the program corrects every misspell. I'm trying not to rely on that too much, but it does help out. What are your common mistakes and how do you handle them? Do you always write in word to catch every error?

Hi. Thanks for responding and letting me know I'm not alone. Do you use a word program to catch your errors, or do you check your spelling before you post? Thanks for adding to the general confusion of the discussion for the miss typers! lol

I think manually checking your spelling is a good idea. I worry that I will forget to spell if I count on a word program to correct my spelling!

Not usually the same words, but silly mistakes. I used to be a very good speller but lately I've been making more mistakes. Must be old age! Luckily, the computer automatically corrects many of my mistakes but I have to look things over carefully anyway. I hate to misspell words and I can see a red line right now under one of these words! Aarrgghh!!

Quite possibly! I didn't think of it that way. I don't often use a calculator because I don't want to forget how to do basic math and it's irritating to have those little red and green lines all over the text I write--it tries to correct my grammar which is rarely incorrect when I'm writing formally, and it doesn't like contractions! I know many people who aren't good spellers because they never have to be. My own children graduated high school but they aren't very good spellers because they never had to be!

Outside of misspelling the same words_ do you think we're forgetting how to spell because of word programs correcting us?

I would like to thank you anawar for this question because now I know that I am not by myself. I often spell certain words incorrectly too and I say to myself, "Linda what's going on?". I get frustrated at myself at times when I do that. Happy spelling, LOL!

I typo everything! and to catch what i do wrong I don't look at the keyboard, I'm watching the actual screen, if I mess up I just hit the backspace a few times :). Although my backspace is almost my mostly used key O.O

my common misspelled words are: judgement (sometimes with an 'e' sometimes none), frend, weathr, and more. But it's usually because of my keyboard.

I agree, the keyboard malfunctions. Weird, I had trouble yesterday with spelling 'judgment'. Thanks for responding!

I do have troubles with certain words and my spell checker gets to work. My worst word is because and the a and u aren't next to each other, so I can't use that as an excuse. My computer underlines them to inform me they are spelled wrong.

I have the exact same problem with the word because, but I never thought of the reason why. I try not to use a spell-checker, I'm worried I'll forget how to spell! Thanks for joining in the discussion.
