A couple of years ago I thought my nursing instructors nuts when they suggested that we all take up yoga. I figured they had fallen completely off their rockers when they dedicated a day in the skills lab to "comfort." I pretty much ignored the entire presentation. Although I have taken to brewing a nice cup of tea when things get to be too much, but really by the time the tea is ready the kids have me running in a different direction so what's the use.
Well I've been doing yoga "lite" for the last few weeks at the club. It is helping me to regain some of my flexability and really helps me to feel centered and calm. The only problem I've had so far is that because I'm a musician and I learned how to breathe to play instruments I have a really hard time breathing in and out thru my nose *lol* Debbie (the instructor) is constently reminding me to breathe thru my nose. I can breathe in that way just fine, but to really exhale I have to breathe thru my mouth. I can't seem to empt

I'm male, I'll be 75 in October, and I've been a Yogi for 30 years. Yoga will change your life as it has changed mine. I do yoga every morning for 45 minutes. I'm still working because I love my work, I'm very healthy and verile.I have not had a medical checkup for 30 years, and I can't remember the last time I took an aspirin. Good health, and Happiness will come with the practise of yoga. You will soon regain the ability to Breathe through your nose. Emptying your lungs will soon become as easy as breathing in. Good Luck with your Yoga Asanas!

Yoga breathing-pranayamas.Pranayama is an aspect of Yoga that deals with breathing. It is the breathing process or the control of the motion of inhalation, exhalation and the retention of vital energy.Proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the brain, and to control Prana or the vital energy.while practicing Breathing or Pranayama,1-Breathe evenly through the nose throughout the postures.2-Never strain your breathing 3-Breathe deeply and slowly.4-Progress slowly and carefully.5- Do not rush things and practice all exercises as slowly as you can.
In Yoga breath is said to be the interface between the physical body and mind. The power of breathing practice to change your state of mind is extremely strong.A breathing practice can last anything from two minutes to half an hour.I hope you master your breathing exercises.By doing Yoga you will gain a lot of health benefits.I hope you enjoy doing Yoga.
