Food wastage

I remember when i was young, my mother used to tell me not to waste food, because there were so many people with lack of it in other parts of the world, and so we kids, most of the time atleast, managed to finish all of the food that was in the plate. In case there was still that we couldnt finish, my mother used to eat it herself.
But these days with all the diseases that arise due to over-eating, we can hardly afford to do that. I simply cannot afford to finish what my daughter has left off, sometimes i do, but is it really wise? And most of all, finishing off food in our plate does not automatically put food into the plate of people who need it. Are there better ways of controlling waste of food and other natures resources?
how do we chanelize extra resources to people who actually need it?

yeah i agree to your mom.. shes defenitely right ,, we should not waste food even if we have a lot of it,,many are suffering from poverty,, i still remember when my family has only one kilo of rice that day and we are 7 members who needs to eat.. my mom just make it poridge in order to make it sufficient for thew whole family but still not enough,,, hahah.. we used to say.. ( i still want to eat but thers nothing to eat anymore..)
so we should save..
and about obbessity.. haha thas just a persons fault.. why dont they have a diet and excersise so that they wont get fat?!!

Perhaps we need to be a bit more aware of how much we actually need, save money by buying less and send that money overseas for food. It sounds good in theory, but unfortunately in our household, any savings are immediately gobbled up by other bills. We give to charity, but we don't carefully plan in order to give extra.
