step mother....

i am a step mother of a 12 year old girl and a 9 year old boy.... i have just been married in february and we have a 17 month old baby boy and i am agin 4 months pregnant.... crazy life!!!! we have full custody of his 2 children and i am having troble still coping with them on many different levels .... i guess im just after someone else who has step children that i can maybe relate to or ask advice from!?? its hard being a mother of biological children but i believe its harder being a step mum for many reasons!!!!
advice or being able to compare with someone would maybe restore my faith in myself again....

first of all, you have to look at his children as if they were your own and love them like they are your own. it's not always easy and sometimes it will be thrown in your face that your not their mother, but in reality you are because he has full custody of them and they are there with the two of you all the time and you help take care of them. you can't look at them as if they weren't yours because you will never adjust to them being there if you do that. my husband has a 10 year old little girl and i love her as if she were my own and we don't even get to see her. children are so special and each one has to be loved and feel that love coming not only from their father but from you as well.
