It's Mothers' Day again!

My mom decided to throw a spanner in the works by refusing to let me take her out to dinner. And I don't know what to buy her as a gift because I haven't done that since I was 10!
Any creative ideas out there?
PS: Did I mention my mom is very hard to please?

my mom is also very hard to please. the only time i gave her something for mother's day is when i was a little girl. i bought her a mother's day card. she did appreciate it but i also got some criticizing and corrections. lol. when i started working, i just decided to take her to the mall and ask her what she would want and i'll buy that for her. it okay to treat her with something pricey coz a week after mother's day is her birthday. and i am soo much grateful to my mom coz she's the one taking care of my son. being a mom too, i now understand her aggravations.

one year for my grandmother in law all the children got together with there kids and did a family picture for her wall you do now what your mom likes if you cant take her out to dinner can you cook dinner for her? how about books does she like to read maybe a gift card for a bookstore plus maybe a day at a spa? is she on a fixed income maybe you can pay for a subsription to magazines she can no longer aford to buy you now your mom better then anyone think about her likes and dislikes and what she doesnt do for herself but does enjoy heck if my kids were to spring for a back massage even from themselves it would be it would be seventh heaven

Oh kuting, my mom's birthday's in May too!
Happy Birthday to both our moms 
I guess I buy my mom stuff as and when so when it comes to May she doesn't really want anything.
My mom is extra hard to please, and she doesn't have any hobbies except for cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.

Mother's Day is always a special day for all of us. It is the day to say our gratitude and praises not just to our mom but to our dad also for being their for us. On that day, I will surprise my mom in delivering some nice flowers and chocolates in our house.
