Should ppl from non-IT backgroung be selected by MNCs

Currently IT sector is facing a crisis situation in INDIA(coz of $ value)....
But sometimes back MNCs were hiring toppers and cream of almost every college and stream...
Do u think this is good?????
ppl r getting fat pay and corporate exposure at early age but wat about long term perspective???

I think this is true. But as we know these IT compnies have projects from all over engineering sectors and most of the companies are adopting IT for making their processes more flexible and efficient. so they need people from all over engineering sector. But ral proble m is when they enter in companies they are given any platform to wotk on.
Secondly, their is huge manpower crisis in the field computers so they have to take manpoer from somewhere thats y they stated taking it from other backgrounds. As a need of business they take on good students.
Thinrdly, we cant blame IT industries, as once they have served to create maximum employment oppotunites in india and also one of the major factor in growth of this country.
