Hey guys, just became a mylotter about 2 days back, first i was interested in the money but i don't care anymore.. knowledge can be even more valuable ;] Well this discussion is all about sharing our little success stories on how we made a bit of money. Theres no restrictions, it can be online, a small deal you made, anything and everything interesting! ill start with my little experiences =] 1. My first little business deal happened in my high school where one of my friends got 2 2GB usb's for like 10 bucks from one of his cousins. He tried selling them for 25 bucks each but couldnt so i offered him 2 for 25 and he said yes. Later that day my mate needed one so i offered him one for 25 bucks and he said yes so i basically got a free usb in one day! LOl, yeh i know its small and theres no point in even sharing it, but this is where i began my quest of money making. Ive always believed in just buying and selling from one market to another market. For example buying from school and selling in ebay or buying from ebay and selling at school. Because obviously the same product doesnt cost the same everywhere. 2. My second story was a lot more serious. I bought a fujitsu laptop, 2 phones, a home pentium 3 computer, and an ipod nano for $1000!! This was about 3 year ago and it was a bargain!. But there was one problem, unlike the usb's these were expensive things to sell, which meant it would be much harder to sell them. I ended up only selling the ipod nano to my friend for about 170 bucks. If i had trusted ebay and sold it through there i would have easily made about an extra 1000$ in a matter of a week. My friend had purchased the laptop for 3000$! and because he was moving to another country he was desperate to sell. Well i ended up selling everything about a year after i bought it, and didnt make anything, infact i lost 200 bucks! this is where i realised business wasnt easy, especially buying and selling when you dont have a proper market. 3. My most recent experience was when i bought 3 cect p168 phones from ebay for about $500. As soon as i saw these phones on ebay i was taken over by the extreme amount of profits that i thought were possible in selling these here in australia. For those of you's that dont know what these phones are, they basically look EXACTLY like the iphone but donnt have a few of the main features like wifi and gps, etc. They had, however, the ability to put two simcards in the same phone which was new to the australian market. Well when i got them and tried to sell them, i realised people didnt want them as they were seen as mere clones of the real thing and the fact that they were made in hong kong was also a big issue. I ended up selling all of them for $600 to a friends friend, who was supposedly buying the for his family. (yea right!, i bet he was going to try and sell them coz he thougt he hit the jackpot like me!!) anyway i was just happy i got rid of it. After all these little experiences ive learned A LOT! i dont think any money went to waste as it all turned into handy knowledge which ultimately makes me a better person at doing business =] Anyways this discussion is to just share some experiences such as mine and even share what may be working for you at the moment? Thanks and goodluck!
