pune university....
i agree it is no competition to the REC's, IIT's and IIm's but Pune University does have a very good repute...it is considered one of the best for engineering.....and pune is called oxford of the east for this very reason.

according to me the best university in INDIA is DELHI UNIVERSITY!!!!!

In my view, some of the best institutes in Inida are:- Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi Universtiy, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Indian Statistical Institute, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and et al.

The best unversities in India are IITs and IISc and then comes Anna university.
In tamil nadu Anna Univ is the best.

I feel Bharathiar University from Coimbatore is the best. They respond promptly and really make things easy for students.
