What is the best country in the world?

Of course you'll say your own country is the best, won't you? But honestly speaking, what country is the best in the entire world? Some say it's America because it is the perfect example of democracy and people who live there are free and they live very good lives. Others will hate me for saying that.
It all really depends on how we should define the term 'best' but it's all entirely up to you. Perhaps you could also include in your response what you think makes a good country.

I think there is no best and worst country in the world.It is the different policy and the political situation makes a country worst and best.

I think it all depends on what you want. I mean, I'm from Singapore, which in so many ways is a perfect society. The place is clean, green and exceedingly safe. However, there are people who grumble that the place is boring and the government restricts freedomes. So, it's really up to what you want. Every country has its good and bad points.
I like the USA, even if at times I don't like its political policies. The place has been granted great gifts by nature and the people have an incredible spirit. OK, I'm not blind to the fact that things like racism, bigotary and other things exist in the USA as they do elsewhere but generally speaking, Americans are welcoming to foreigners and encourage people to succeed whereever they may be from.
Europe is also nice. In a way, more clam and civil than the USA, but without the same get up and go of the USA. Each is different.
Here in Asia, I'd go for Thailand. People have an incredible generosity of the spirit and even when they're poor, you cannot help feeling that they have something very special, which we in the more advanced world lost quite sometime ago.

america is not the best country in the world. all are not living "good" lives. the country is just good in projecting themselves to be a country wherein everyone is having a good experience in life. mainly because of the movies that are shown all over the world, only the good and the beautiful are shown but the reality is hidden from the world's eyes.

Hello,tobi_brown_eyes! Honestly speaking there is no country which can be defined as the best country.all countries have some vices or other as reports come in at various times.some times back America was defined as the costliest country and so also Great Britain,Germany,France and Africa is facing the scarcity food stuff,some other leading countries are going through political unrest and terrorist problems.so in every respect i think my country India is the only peaceful country with guaranteed food supply and other amenities.thanx.
