How many times a day and how...

What are your brushing habits?
Do you brush the old fashioned way, with a standard toothbrush and move your wrist/hand up and down, back and forth. Or do you use a battery powered/electric toothbrush?
I use both. I normally brush manually 3 or 4 times a day and maybe 3 or 4 times a week use my battery powered toothbrush.
I also floss about 3 times a week. I never got into the habit of flossing when younger, so I tend to forget to do this.
I love the new floss picks that are out now. No more tearing off thread and wrapping it around my fingers. I just use a floss pick and go. They are so easy to use. Have you tried these yet?
So, what about you? Manual or electric and do you floss everyday?

My brushing habits are that I brush twice a day, first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and I do not floss as it kills my gums, just one thing that I never really got the hang of. I think you either like to floss or you hate it, I hate it!! I do use mouthwash though which is pretty good as long as you do not go mad with it or else it leaves a real funny taste in your mouth!!

I have to brush first thing in the morning.
Ugh, that is the worst time for bad breath and germs.
I don't know if I like to floss or not, I just forget
to do it because I was not taught to do so when young, so it was never really part of my hygiene, I guess.
My oldest son can't floss either, it really hurts his
gums, too.
Thanks so much for responding, gemini-rose

I brush my teeth with a normal toothbrush, with a normal run of the mill toothpate from the local supermarket.
I brush up and down, across my teeth.
I clean my teeth in the morning and last thing at night, I then can clean my teeth up to four times inbetween those times. A lot of it depends of what i have eaten or drunk as to waht my mouth and teeth feel like, if i'm in the house alot, do tend to clean them more if i'm on a stay at home day. Its more diffult to clean them out of the house.
I do lie to have a clean fresh mouth and feel healthy and clean if my mouth feels nice and clean.
But I think it depends on the indiviual person as to how and when they clean their own teeth. My friensd gives her a quick brush in the morning and a quick brush at night time and has never had a filling in her life! Must be luck on her side!! LOL

I brush my teeth a lot when I am home, also.
I love a fresh mouth.
I have a cousin that did a horrible job on brushing her
teeth that has never had a cavity.
I brush a lot and always have and my mouth has thousands of dollars worth of dental work.lol But, I think I would rather have a clean mouth than not.
I think it is genetics sometimes maybe why some have stronger, healthier teeth than others.
Thank you so much for sharing, Anne :)

I'm an old fashioned tooth-brusher, up and down and back and forth. I have looked at getting an electric one, and I'm sure I'll get round to it sooner or later.
Likewise, I don't floss every day, but I do often use mouthwash. I love that fresh feeling after having just gargled.

I like the old fashioned way best, also.
But the electric does get the back teeth cleaner.
I had forgotten about mouthwash. It does make your mouth so much fresher but I normally forget to use it.
It is a good habit to get into, also.
Thank you so much for responding Icequeen :)
