Anna is 10, her dog that she's showing is 3 yrs old. She was so cute to watch. It's a great way for this shy kid to come out of her shell a bit too. :)

Participating in competitions like this are so good for kids. I think that it helps also that the attention is on the dog as much as it is on her.

Hi carmetaf, it is nice to have a daughter so young interested in dogs. Showing dogs helps her to overcome shyness and the children become more outgoing. i am thinking of enrolling my son into the children class during the next show.

Congrats. When I was younger I wanted to show dogs. I realized that I would never be good at it. I have always struggled with confidence issues. So, I chickened out. Hopefully, that won't happen to your daughter.

I've always had confidence issues, this sport brought out the better of me. I see it working for my daughter too, you could always go to a UKC dog show and the dog owners will talk you through how to handle in show and some may need a hand bringing in their dogs. (pro handlers are not allowed in UKC so you can have friends or strangeres help you show but cannot pay them to do it) It'd be a neat way for ya to conquer that desire and enjoy the sport.
