Can anyone recommend a site that has safe, reliable, east to understand freeware? I'm looking for a office program, but anything that has a variety of programs would be nice to browse through.

For the ultimate free office suite software go to http://www.openoffice.org. I have used OpenOffice for years. It includes absolutely everything you'll ever need; word processor, spreadsheet, database, graphics presentation, drawing program and more. It's completely free and 100% compatible with Microsoft Office!
For tons (except games) of excellent quality freeware, I use http://www.snapfiles.com. They break shareware and freeware apart into seperate categories to make it easier to browse.
Hope that helps!
