My little girl just turned one and I was wondering if anyone knew about what age they need a toddler bed?She sleeps with me in my bed and i've been wanting to get a smaller bed for her to put next to mine cause she can roll off of my bed and i think a toddler bed would be better cause even if she rolls off it won't hurt her!But i was just wondering what everyone thinks let me know thanks and have a Blessed Day!

My oldest daughter was in a toddler bed at 17 months because I had to move in with my mom again and I didnt want to buy another crib so we bought a toddler bed. My youngest daughter was into a toddler bed when she was 19 months. I guess it all depends on the parents and the child. My friend just recently put her son in a toddler bed and he will be 3 in Sept. I personally dont think anything over 12 months is too young. The little beds are so low to the ground and even if you still worry she might get hurt just put a pillow at the opening just in case.

I suppose you have to consider many factors. My kids always ended sleeping with me, and later climbing into my bed to sleep with me well beyond one. I had to buy the biggest bed I could find to accomodate. But, you have to consider what your child will do if she can get out of the toddler bed alone, while you are still sleeping.

well i think one and a half but we put both our daughters in big beds (regular sized beds) with a guard rail on the side. toddler beds are expensive and are only used for a short time. why not just put a mattress (or air mattress beside your bed?) buy her a special blanket for her bed too!

My daughter just turned two years old and she's getting ready for her toddler bed. She knows how to climb out of her crib so she's definitely ready. We've had her "big girl" bed in her room for quite some time now so she's familiar with it. The crib will be coming down shortly and we'll try her in the toddler bed. Everytime we try to put her to bed in the toddler bed (even for naps), she doesn't understand that it's bed time. Any suggestions on how to KEEP her in the bed?

My daughter was 19 months old. She started climbing out of her crib. After a near miss where I barely caught her before she hit the floor, I talked to my hubby. And the bed went up by the end of that month. So my kid wasn't even 2. But from my point of view less air to fall through til she hit the floor the safer.
