I recently wrote an article that I had a blast writing! Twenty-Four Years Ago. A look at where we were with PC's 24 years ago. I'll post the link at the bottom, but what I want to know is this: How many of you were using computers 24 years ago (1984)?
Personally, I had a Timex/Sinclair 1000 and I think I had a T/S 1500 by then. The Macintosh came out that year and I was priviledged enough to see a demo of one and a computer fair and even got to play with MacPaint!
I'll never forget hooking up the T/S 1000 to my parent's TV in the living room and typing my first BASIC program:
10 CLS
20 PRINT "HI - MY NAME IS KEN."
30 PRINT
40 GOTO 20
RUN
w00t! I was hooked after that! I've been hacking (the good hack, not the media version) and playing with computers ever since. Okay, here's the link to the article. Tell me what you think - be honest, I can take it! (I hope)

Thanks, all...

i was born in 1985, so, no i didn't get to use what you mentioned. but i've had my piece of the IBM, big thin floppy disk, the mono screen computer and typing lines of codes to draw a circle and a rectangle
the games were stored in the floppy disks. wheel of fortune, snake. greeting card/calendar printing program. lotus123 book is still sitting in my home's bookshelf (dad used to do his work on it. i get to play games and print letters and cards - plain paper folded into 2 or 4 - after he finished with his works)
no mouse. big printer and printer port, no colour (screen and printer). i was used to the green text on black screen background in school and the grey text at home. i didn't get to use any word processor in school. we play a lot. lol
my first modern pc was win95 HP pavillion in year 1997/98. win98 was still not in the market. all my friends used win98 a year later. i learned html on my own and made a simple tutorial for a school project (but i didn't know how to use print screen to make screen shots) and got A for it coz everybody else is doing the 'normal' science project so the teacher was impressed. lol
the article is good. and people thought win95 era was already so bad. :P
