I was thinking with 127,917 members at the time I posted this what people do for a living? I myself do Massage Therapy and bodywork. I just thought it may be neat to see what diffrent people do when they are not around here posting things. I can't even begin to imagine what all kinds of jobs it is possible to get paid for.

May I ask what computer encoding is? I have heard of it but wasn't sure what it was.

It is just like typing. But the word encoding is for computers. So in a typewriter you type, in the computer you encode.

Okay now I understand. I find that there is many jobs out there and I know I am not the only one wondering on some of these answers. I just picked up an independent contractors job from home which will hopefully add to my income while I am building my practice. I bet a full day of filing would be one of the days that would be tough,or shall I say aggravating.

At present I work on a ginger farm on the Sunshine Coast. I wash, trim and pack ginger five days a week. Then I come home and look after two boys and my husband. It is a full life with work, kids, football, school and the countless other thigs that go on but I love it.

I would enjoy a job like that as I do love to plant and harvest. Currently all of my planting is done on my very huge balcony as I am living in an apartment complex until me and the hubby can agree upon the same house to purchase. As we are both looking for totally diffrent homes. We moved from outta state and we settled here for the time. I so would enjoy your job. You are one of a few who love there job,not many as compassionate about it as you.

Currently I am unemployed and doing little tiny things online, such as MyLot. But before that my last job as Active Duty Army. I was an Air Traffic Controller. I enjoyed my job very much, but I was stationed in South Korea. I missed being in the United States. And I finished my time so I got out and I got married and now I'm searching for work. Except I want to work from home, that way I can always be home when my husband comes home. He is in the Army. And he works 5 days a week from 9 to 5 and sometimes later or earlier and it sucks not to spend enough time with him. So if I could find work at home I can have the time with him for when he gets off of work to tend to his needs. Yesterday he came home and his feet were killing him from wearing his boots and standing up all day.

My brother was stationed in South Korea also. He finished his time and he came home about a year ago. missed home also, now at times he says he wished he would have stayed on and stayed in South Korea a little longer. There is jobs on line if you look really hard, lots of research. Never pay any money for anything,if you do more than likely you will have no money or job. Good luck in your search for at home work.

I was in banking for about two years. I was a teller. The work was ok. It was just stressful and annoying a lot of the time. Having to try to take care of your customer's needs and constantly having to worry about coming up out of balance at the end of the day makes the job no fun. The job is definitely worth more than most banks pay the people who do them. I recently got hired by a communications company, and I am waiting to start my training there at the end of the month. Meanwhile, I am working at the restaurant I used to work at while I was taking college classes full time. I also run a small business on the side cutting grass, cleaning windows, and things of that nature. I hope to get a business going so that I can work for myself full-time in the future.

I know from experience how hard it can be to start a business. I am just in my first 6 months of business for myself although I have been doing massage longer.I was kinda worried to take the big leap of a job to a business by myself. I did choose to jump and I could not be happier. It takes a while to get your name out there but you do good work and the clients will come.Good luck in your new job and good luck to you in making it full-time very soon.

I have never heard of an indie either, unless you mean race car driver ? You seem to be talented with a long list of things you do. Maybe your income will pick up soon and payoff hopefully.

I'm between jobs at the moment (meaning I'm filling my daylight hours by looking for work). I've done a few things, but my main skills are in the admin/secretarial area. I've done some call centre work too, but I don't enjoy that - working to impossible sales targets for peanuts and having to be polite to idiots. The last job I did was a temporary job working as an administrator for a cosmetics firm.

There is legitimate jobs online that do pay good wages. You have to look hard. I found many but you must have lots of experience in cll centers and customer service to be considered. I found a job this way and ,remeber you should never pay a cent to work as an employee or an independent contracter in my experience. The best part is you do get to be at home while doing your job, which is awesome in my book.

I just graduated to be a medical transcriptionist back in January. I now work at home so I can be home with my three children. On and off for the past 5 years prior to January I was an exotic dancer. It paid my way through school.

I bet that was a hard class remebering all the abrevations and stuff like that. When I was i massage shool we had to learn just a small touch and I thought if this is just a start I couldn't imagine going to school for a transcriber. Good Luck in your new career! Sometimes I think I would like to work at home but I don't think I would be comfortable doing that in my choosen profession. I would rather keep my office seperate from my home as you never know what someone may try. You are fortunate you choose a profession to be at home with your children. I bet the love it.

I am a stay at home mum, of four children. The last time that I worked was 9 years ago now, such a long time, but it feels like only yesterday. I worked as a care assistant for the elderly, they had early onset dementia and also a lot of them had Alzheimers, I worked 12 hours a day and I loved it. Just recently I have been getting the yearning to go back, but it is not flexible work and it is very unsociable the hours there would mean that I would go for a couple of days at a time without seeing my children which is very unfair on them.
