Hello all, I love to read but once I read there are certain ways that you can read very fast with out missing any of the lines. So, I welcome all those suggestions which are the best techniques in reading fast.

I haven't studied speed reading, so I don't know the exact technique, but although it has its usefulness, I don't think I would want to use it when reading for pleasure. When reading a story, I like to savor what I'm reading. If you read too fast, you don't have time to really process what you're reading. If you read a lot, you will find yourself naturally reading faster. It comes with practice. The more you read the faster you get - even in a second language.

Thanks for the suggestion shizuoka. I'll also follow the same when it comes to pleasure reading. But for some professional and learning purposes you must read fast and understand them in short span of time. I hope you got my point.

Yes, I see. Sorry I misunderstood. I think they have training courses for speed reading, perhaps a DVD or a book?

Pace of reading is relative to every person. Base to my experience and someone I knew, someone reads faster if he is used to reading. My friend has been reading books since his childhood and he really read books very fast. He can finish a novel in one night. Amazing right? On my part, it depends on what I'm reading but usually, it is not the speed that matters to me. As long as I understand what I'm reading, the speed won't matter. Anyway, still the best way to read is having yourself on the right mood while reading so you understand each line and won't have to go back to previous lines.
