Have you eaten at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant?

There are hundreds of these fine restaurants all over the USA and they are the best place for the traveler to stop for a meal. Cracker Barrels, can be found at Major Intersections in cities across the country. The location can be identified easily (at speed) by the high Oval Orange Sign located near the appropriate exit on the thruway. We eat exclusively at Cracker Barrel on our trips to and from Ontario and Texas. My favourite breakfast is Pecan Pancakes with pure Maple syrup and the reasonable price is just over $5.00. Their food is delicious and the menu is the same in every restaurant. They cater to the traveler, and when you don't need a big meal there are plenty of smaller portions available. Each Restaurant has a thousand genuine Antiques decorating the walls, and the entrance room doubles as a store which sells candy, nick-nacks, clothing, trinkets, toys, and home decorations. On your next trip, stop at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant for dinner! You will be glad you did!

I won't say we go there exclusively but we know it is one place we will never be disappointed. We have several within reasonabel driving distance from home so we go the often just because and in 2006 we even went there for Thanksgiving dinner. I couldn't believe that my husband who likes turkey passed up the turkey dinner for his usual MEATLOAF.

There website has a history of how they started. Hubby's other favorite are the lima beans and I even bought their bacon trying to copy the flavor but no can do.

I have to be honest. I am not fond of the food here at all but I shop here often. I love the store in the front of the restaurant. I find such neat items in there- This is the place I usually pick up co-worker gifts and teacher gifts for Christmas. They are unique and very good prices. The reason I'm not fond of the food is I'm not fond of them menu- I like to eat turkey out for dinner- Turkey is not on the normal menu- it is a special from time to time. I do love their salads though- but most times when I go out to eat for dinner- I don't want a salad.

Hello, I enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere there. I also love those pancakes even though I hate to think of how many calories I'm swallowing! Its a great breakfast place with very good prices. Everytime we go traveling, we always get a good breakfast to fill up before we leave and I usually end up buying something totally useless in the gift shop, but I guess its just become a habit. Have a great day!

Yes I like your descriptive use of,"nostalgic atmosphere!" That's it exactly! and all the antiques are authentic. As a Senior I can usually find something hanging on the wall, that brings back memories of earlier times.

No, I'm pretty sure we don't have any in my area. I'll keep that in mind for the future, though. (In case, I go on vacation.)
