do you know anyone afraid of computers?

I have a friend whose husband has a computer and got a computer for himself so she could have the older one,,that was good as they are on the 'net she can get emails etc but twice so far she has nearly crashed her computer after asking her husband to get her emails up-now she won't touch the computer incase she does it again and says she doesn't know how to get into her emails and won't unless her husband does it for her!! she is actually scared stiff of using it-and wont for days on end-do you know of anyone scared stiff of computers and what they are like when it comes to using them..please share

No I don't know anyone who is afraid of computers. I know lots of people who get frustrated with them though, even me, I usually get my girls to help me if I have a problem and I still only now the basics but the more I use mine the more I am getting used to it. I got online only a couple of years ago to share emails with my eldest daughter when she was travelling so we could stay in contact and it has grown from there really. I hope your friend overcomes her fear. Ellie :D

Hi Ellie was speaking to my friend about it last night but she said she will never get over that fear and will always ask her husband to open her emails! Though on the other side of the coin he has told her that a lapyop would be easier for her to use so he will get her one in a few months if she will use it so we can only see what happens if she does get one

Well, a lot of people do get intimidated when their computers crash. My father, who dabbled with programming in the 1980s and was among the first to get a personal computer in my city, is still apprehensive of getting "under the hood" of his own PC. I do all the taking apart and wrecking in the house, heheh. :)
My mom also gets apprehensive when learning new programs.
My uncle won't touch a computer, for the life of him.
Me, I am so gutsy that I ignore the possibility of breaking one. Except my laptop Sayuri. I'm a little bit more careful of her than anything else. Heheh. :)

Hi nenyalorien-I love your blog its funny, can understand why your mum and dad get apprehensive about using a new programme-it takes me a bit of courage to do that am glad your a bit more gutsy about using them though-thanks for your response littleowl

I know several people who are vurtually cpmuter phobic and the suggestion of using one horrifies them. These people will never change because they still believe that computers are complex to use and they have no intention of trying to use one.
It is a great pity because computers are becoming more necessary on a daily basis.

Hello Asylum-that is true about computers becoming more necessary nowadays but guess it will be the young generation who take to them more so than people nowadays-its a pity but still we who do use them can have some fun with them eh

yea my grandpa... at first he thought it was just some toy but when i turned it on and he saw me surfing the web he tried it later (Note. gramps has a really bad temper and is really impatient) so the next morning i open my window and what do you think i found smashed on the ground!!!?!?!? my brand new 800$ computer with an unfinished 70 page report that I had to do in three days on the history of the huns (i.e. Attila the hun and so forth) i asked my gramps what happened "a demon came out of that god forsaken box" so for my report... i failed,and as for my gramps..he never paid me back...theres my story
