today blood donation without payment is widely advocated. in fact, every year millions of people gather together in different area to donate their blood. their voluntary donation is esteemed by other people who will follow their example and do the same later.

I have sold my blood in the past, but have not donated it.
I would if a family member needed it,but short of that,I
probably wouldn't. I had open heart surgery when I was young and think I got a lifetime of giving blood then. I know it's a good thing to do,but not fun.

Yes, I donated for the first time almost 12 weeks ago, so I am due for another appointment on the 20th of this month =D
I'm quite happy to donate without payment or anything like that - we are doing a service for other people, and if I or any of my loved ones, end up in the hospital and in need of a blood transfusion, it will be because of other donors that we will be able to have one - I am happy to be able to provide that for someone else somewhere in the world =)
Our local donor centre also provides us with a drink and some food if we would like some after giving blood, so that we keep our energy and blood sugar up =)
Have you ever given blood, Xiaowen?

I did, in a fight, on the playground, while in 5th grade. :) I don't like needles but I've donated to get some concert tickets. I think a lot of promoters could fill the blood banks of this country if they had a ticket exchange for donated blood. Once I did donate I found out my blood type and that I have good cholestrol. Some places will give you gift certificates to eat out at some of your favorite restaurants if you donate at lest 3 times a year.

Yes I have donated blood once. It was okay. It felt like an ant bite.
