What does computers made us? "Either sharper or lazy."

In present situation the usage of computers is increased in every field. The usage of computers makes the work easier and consumes less time. So, many of us prefer to work with computers. But negative thing with using computers is that we are not able to work hard and even for small caluclations we are not able to aplly our brain. So,computers makes us lazy. Every one has their own ideas. Lets share the ideas.........

I think now we can't think to work without computer as it is very much precise and quick so we are getting all the work done in very less time which otherwise can take more time. So as far as the comfort is concerned they have given us a huge comfort but at the same time we are going lazy day by day and we really don't want to take any burden on our brain and just want computer to serve for us. So for me computer is indispensable as i can't imagine to do my work without it and i am totally dependent on my computer for all the work.
No doubt i am becoming little lazy but getting perfection in my work cause of my computer only.

In my opinion, computers are just a very good (indispensable now) tool. If computers make us lazy, then we are choosing to be lazy, if that's what you want to call it. Computers combined with the internet empower us to learn and interact and share knowledge. They can be used for entertainment but this only goes so far before losing its appeal and being replaced by the search for knowledge and the sharing of experiences. Eventually for most they will become a great way to learn - to record and organize what we know and what we have experienced in life.
I believe that we are experiencing a huge transition at the present which may last several years. In the present phase, like a fad, we gorge ourselves on the technology and the experiences it affords us. In time, computers will be just useful and necessary appliances, instead of the time sponges they are today. A great leap is made possible from paper and pen by the simple ability to search quickly - both our own records and that knowledge and experience that is shared with us. It is this searching that has made so much difference over having libraries that very few access, or our own personal traditional stores of information on paper which are ridiculously time-consuming to search and benefit from.
As far as losing the ability to do simple or complex calculations, computers only enable us to understand and execute these better, be it in our heads or with a calculator.
