Uhm...
...when you have to give out twice as much as you did before for the same item, your money has lost it's value..
...It has not become without value, but it is not worth the same. Yeah, let's keep wanting to get paid more so merchants will increase their prices and in 5 years we can pay $5 for a damn loaf of bread.

There has been a tremendous and too scary mismanagements for the supply and demands on most commodities whereby, a chain reaction resulted in food shortages to the bulk of the people worldwide. Oil price hike continues to dominate the market and will remain to dictate the inflation rate as long as it is the number one source of energy fueling the world. Not as much as the innovative minds of the century been trying to divert some sources but the implications to their studies somehow has a big impact to their alternatives... nevertheless if they can carefully do a very smooth transition to these alternatives from the "known" dependence of industrialization to "crude oil" without jeopardizing the recent employment and manpower on the global marketing of "oil" then we can expect a significant effect for a very stable commodity prices somehow.

Yes, recently in Asian countries food price increased too much with other daily essentials. Dur to world food crisis food price increased in whole world but in Asian countris rice price are higher than ever. Every country should take step to increase production of food crops to cope of future hunger or future poverty.

Yes commodity prices are rising in the blink of the eyes and simultaneously the value of money is going up as well. The purchasing power of people have really increased and i hope the companies and governments understands it and raise the salary of the employeess as well.
In my country (India)..the inflation has risen to 7.25% and yesterday one of the political parties called for a protest due to the alarming increase in the price of commodity and all commercial shops were shut in my state.I hopefully look forward that the government will stabilize this and bring the plight of the common people at ease.
this is very interesting post

I haven't notices that actually.
Here in Norway, groceries and gas becomes more expensive, but the things I use to buy holds the same price. So I'm not actually too worried about it, what I'm worried about, is the lack of food.
If we make gas out of corn, then corn will cost more. And a lot of the world live on corn, so I don't understand how that's going to work.
