What would you do with it?I would be able to pay my rent on time with no problems.
Go grocery shopping for my kids
Get christmas gofts since it is that time of year.

If i have $500 extra amonth I could pay of student loans faster, save money for when I graduate college again and donate it to a charity or something.

Thats cool. With an extra $500 I could actually start a home school program and learn a trade I can do from home.

I would spend $100 extra on things I need, and invest $400 in mutual funds. You would be very surprised how fast this would grow. That would be $4800 deposited plus growth each year.

I would do some of the same things as you including taking my car to get serviced, buying some updated clothes for work (so I woulnd't feel and look like a dork) and make some repairs to my home

I forgot about my van, my driver side door wont stay shut so we had to rig it. Now I have to climb throught the passenger door just to get in and out. It sux. I would put my van in the shop too, or just get a new one since I could afford the payments with the extra money.

I would put it towards rent. That is what i am trying to do is make an extra $500 a month it would really help me out big time right now. Its just everything seems to be going up and up in price with wages never increasing and its very fustrating!!

Id buy the person giving me the $500 dinner and then use it to pay of my only remaining debt then save and invest the rest :P
What would more likely happen is I factor that money into my income and just spend it all.
