There has been debate whether or not we are in or going into a recession, what are your views on the economy?

Unlike European countries, US manufactures only high tech products and most of the consumer goods, consumer durables are important from countries like China which has spoiled the image of the country. I had been to Jafferson Memorial in Washington. I purchased a souvenir, that is manufactured in China. I had been to Statute of Liberty, the metal souvenir I purchased there is made in china. It does not speak of quality production.
Unproductive expenses incurred by US economy might have led to recession and it is happening quite often. There is a large scale unemployment in the country adding fire to the fuel.

you are very right. The other day it made me sad I bought a lighter with the American flag on it, and just happened to look and it too was made in China. It is wonderful the government is giving us more money soon, in hope we will go to the store and spend it. But think they would have done better if they would of just put a price freeze on gas. When min wage is $7.15/hour and gas is $4.00 a gallon I don't know how people making the minimum wage can do it. Let alone have money to go out and waste.

The governmentwants to curtain the use of gas, because your countrymen consume more gas for both fuel as well as to keep people warm (domestic). All said and done, your country is not at all less clever. They have oild reserves for scores of generations and it is only to bring about some conservation that the prices are raised. In fact the price of fuel in our country is 10 to 15 times higher than the price at which it is bought. This is due to heavy taxation.
