it is amazing to me that at just shy of nine months old, my daughter is already walking!!! i guess i shouldn't be that amazed since she rolled over for the first time a four weeks old. she's one that was never accepting of being still. yet everytime i see her take steps with no help, my heart swells. i'm just so proud of her!how old were your children when they started walking?

nine months is ok for some. as said earlier, some children tend to do things earlier and faster than others. but i'm really amazed that she rolled over at around a month old. that really is fast.
my son started walking around 15 or 16 months i think. a little late. and i too remember feeling really proud then.
now my daughter is one and a half months, let's see when she starts rolling over and walking. it seems as if sometimes, she wants to try and talk to me, of course baby talk just at the starting.

My Grand daughter is one this month and just crawling and sitting up on her hind legs with one knee up. All she needs to do is pull herself up and walk but she doesn't do it, not yet anyway. I don't think making them take step helps them they have to figure it out on their own when they are ready.

Only two of my children started walking at nine months! I know it can be done but not all babies start that early. I did start walking that early and several of my siblings did too! The other took more like one year or more to being walking! Watch your baby carefully!
