For me i would prefer speaker because if you always use earphone and you listen music without rest it can damage your brain or eardrum...
but there are disadvantage too of using speaker because you can distract someone...but there are lot of disadvantage of earphone that speaker..
how about you? what do you use???

Earphones are better. If you don't put them to high then it can be relaxing background music and it won't bother other people. also you can ehar the music in mroe detail if you use earphones.

I don't have earphones, I have headphones but I prefer speakers. The music isn't so close to me ears and I can really hear the music better.

normally while travelling or in the night times i use earphone to listen music because it may disturb someone or their sleep. But i use speaker at lower volume when i am at home.
This way i can acoid side-effect of both speakerphone as well as headphones. But i strictly avoid using earbuds.

Although I use both...for serious music listening, nothing can compare to a great set of loudspeakers! Trying to capture the "magic of a live performance",in your own home,is the ultimate goal of serious music listeners. With a set of well designed loudspeakers i.e. Paradigm Loudspeakers; matched with top quality electronic components and of course a well produced recording, it's amazing how realistic and enjoyable the end results can be. If you ever have the opportunity, take a few of your favourite CD's and audition some top brand loudspeakers,in the sound room of a reputable home electronics store (not a big box store).

I use the headphones/earphones for listening to the music as i like music at the high volume so its not that much possible for me to listen at the high volume on the speaker as my parents don't like this thing so i use only and only earphones for most of the time but i use the speakers too that depends on the time or i can say my mood. Moreover my headphones are having better features and sound quality as compared to the speakers so that is also the another reason for using the earphones only. This was the thing that we like or dislike but in real practice both have the disadvantages as you said it affects the brain and nervous system too at the same time. So using them in excess is not justified either but still we can't live without music so we have to use these two.

Hy, well I use speaker, cuz I don;t like earphone, I have a big woofer in my room, so i think my woofer causes more brain trouble than your ear phonae but anyway, I prefer the speaker. Greet.

I'm a headphone guy for softer music that needs some attention to get the full experience, like Morphine, or acoustic music. For all the heavier things I listen to, I try and do it with my stereo because I can get up and move around to start with, but you can also feel the bass and kick drum in your chest when they hit. I just like it better than way:)

When it's just me in the room, I use speakers since I won't be disturbing anyone. But if I'm with someone, I use earphones. I don't blast the volume up so that it won't do any damage to my ears. But sometimes, it also depends on my mood if whether I want to use speakers or earphones.

When I'm alone, I use always speakers because they have much better sound quality and the fact that earphones damage your ear very easily. But when I'm moving, like on a walk or something, I prefer earphones 'cos speakers on a walk... Not very comfortable.
