The trees, flowers and birds we like best...

It seems like we all have some trees, flowers and birds that we like best. What are yours? I live in California and like Redwoods and other pine trees best. I like tea roses, the ones with light pink, orange, yellow and white petals and a beautiful fragrance. I also like star gazer lilies and orange blossums. I like hummingbirds, white herons, hawks, eagles, junkos. How about you ... What is your location? What trees, flowers and birds do you like best?

In flowers, red rose is my favourity, though I love any colour of rose. I love to see the huge and mamoth Peepal trees. While going towards hill stations, pine trees attract my attention and I feel spell bound by its beauty. Sparrows is my favourite bird. Some sparrows religiously come to my balcony early in the morning and I love feeding them.

Thanks for the best response. I am really delighted. You have written better comments than my response, so if there were best comments to be choosen, I would have choosen yours as the 'best comments' .....LOL! I entirely agree with you that Roses are wonderful...and I wish that your wish regarding roses come out true. I would try and send you a photograph of Peepal tree, it is said that it gives maximim amount of oxygen to us. Hummingbirds are really cute, however, we do not find them in our areas. wishing you many around you to savor.

Roses are wonderful... wishing you many around you to savor. I do not think I have ever seen a Peepal tree... wondering what it looks like. Those hill stations sound like they look beautiful. I am glad that you have the gift of sparrows. I love it when the hummingbirds come in my area to feed on flowers and to sing their soft humming song, and when the other small birds sing in the morning... I delight in seeing the hawks and turkey vultures soar overhead and pause to wonder at the white heron as it glides sometimes overhead looking like a soul in flight. Isn't nature wonderful... and we have it for free.

all kids of roses, lilac bushes which I cant grow here I tried. Flags, and a gerber dasiy they are so big and colorful. Tree?think it would be a big oak tree, and fruit trees (which I have none here) always loved a magpie (dont see them here) meadowlark , cardinals, eagles, hawks, doves, and mocking bird (which I do have here) and it sings every day. I live in Navada but Oaks were in Tenn. fruit trees in Idaho so were the magpies.

It is nice that you have the memory of some trees, birds and flowers from more than one place... It is sad perhaps that you cannot see some of what you love around you now but it's good that you were able to love them... Its' bittersweet like some good chocolate. It is amazing how nature seems at times to be bound to place and time and never seems to exist apart from it...

Wishing you clean water, clean air and plenty of growing things around you... Wondering if any shops around you sell any flowers ever... I get the star gazer lillies at a shop or as gifts sometimes. Also wondering if there are distant parks or gardens as I smell the orange blossums there... as the orange trees in my area mostly got cut down to make way for homes. I live in a suburban community. Sometimes the inner cities are hard and yet there are things that you sometimes can do to make them better, even growing a small pot garden... I have some small potted plants growing inside on my refrigerator-- two of those ornamental bamboo plants, and some clover and a small poinsettia. I have on my porch some growing things too. I may not be able to see all of my favorite plants all of the time but I can take trips and nurture my soul with them... Hoping that you can do the same thing.

Very nice to hear about your place...It seems its all colorful world around you - so beautiful! I live kinda downtown and the nature is still there unlike uptowns where we hardly get any trees! My house is amidst beautiful locality where you will find lots of greens and flower bushes. Most have grown unwanted but left an impact and when I see butterflies flying over the red lilies it feels that this is but heaven. It's my small neighborhood, my small harbor, my solace.

I must admit... the flowers that grow near me are hibiscus, gerenium, Christmas cactus, roses, etc. I live in an apartment with a small porch. I have to travel in order to see and smell orange blossums as most of the orange trees are gone in my area now even though I live in a city named after the fruit. I have to travel to see the Redwoods and pines as they grow better up in Northern California where it is moister. And I really do not know where the stargazer lillies grow but get them sometimes at flower sales, a rare treat as they are beautiful. Your butterflies flying over red lillies do sound beautiful. I am glad that you have a bit of heaven around you to give you solice as you deserve this and more.

Yes, I do have heaven around me but its just the way we feel it. For some it may be just unwanted shrubs that take up space and attract wilds... I am glad that you too love nature as much as I do.
