I love to shop and I love to try new things. For example, tonight when I went to the store I found a special brush made by Revlon for applying hair color. I love new beauty products. I even love new cleaning products. I will rush home to clean a counter or mop a floor if I've discovered a new cleaning product on the shelves. Call me strange, but its true. Do you like to try new products or do you tend to stay with something you know and trust?

Well I guess you won't know if something new is worth using, unless you use it.

I used to try new products sometimes but preferred to stay with something I knew and trusted, but now since I have no money I have to sacrifice quality for a good price, and that really doesn't make me very happy though.

I understand that, but not all new products are pricey. Often times when they first come out they are sold at a reasonable price in order to promote them.

Whose recommendation do you use to determine whether it is safe or not? Do you mean products that have been on the market for a long time?

I love trying new products. I do the same thing as you with cleaning products. I like trying new products because I love a variety of products to choose from. I decided sometime last year to buy a bottle of carpet odor and stain remover from the local dolor tree and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. It worked much better than any of the more expensive stuff. I love trying any new air freshener products also.

The only problem I find with dollar tree items is the pump or the nozzle, usually they don't work, but otherwise I never mind buying cleaning products there.

I haven't had that problem yet, not to say that I won't. I guess I figure why pay more when we don't have to.

I do like to try new things, although it all depends on what the cost of it is to start off with!! Sometimes when a new product comes onto the market you can get it at a good price so that is what I always look for. I must say that I am not very loyal to one product, and it does not take much persuading for me to give it up and try something else that might be better.

Although I have my favorites, I often switch up. You never know when you might find something better than what you are currently using.

I think it's always interesting trying new things, to see what will happen. I am not a person to try every new thin that is advertized, just the hings that interest me. The brush would not interest me because I am not interested in colouring my hair, but I might like o try other things offered.

If you were to dye your hair or if you have any friends that do, I highly recommend the brush. LOL.

I tend to stick to what I know. My saying is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." That's probably because I've had more bad than good experiences. The only time I'll try something new is if I get a free sample and/or a really good coupon that I can match with a sale. I'm too thrifty to get stuck with something I don't want/need or can't use.

Thats true, if you become accustomed to a product that works for you, some may not find any reason to use something else.

I do try new things, if I can afford to. I also try them out if they are a better way of doing something. Most of the time, I do not have the money to try them out. So I have to stick with the regular stuff. I did buy a singing course, and it looks like it is a keeper not like the other one I had. And I should try out a new diet product designed for women since exercise and eating right still has not reduced my waist or my stomach. But it is the finances. I do not want to spend all my money and I have other things on my plate.

I am weary of diet products. I wonder if they really work, because if they did, wouldn't all of us be thin?

Okay, well I don't know why you would go out of the way to make yourself sweat or take a cold bath on a cold day, but I suppose everyone to his own.

(lol) I dont think its strange at all. I just love walking around and taking note of all the wonderful things on offer and if something really pulls me to it and i can, then i am going to get it. Its all about getting value for money and adding variety to our lives.
It sure feels good when I try something new and find that I made a superb choice. (lol)

taking in new things in my life is something I have to think for how many times. I'm not the adventurous type of person or easily take risks in my life.
When it comes to shopping, I also need more hours for me to finally buy a piece of clothing or whatever. hehehe..
Anyway, if I have to buy something new, like different from a brand I use -- let's say an appliances -- maybe it's better if I ask some friends first if it's okay.

i told her i dont like the commercial and is not convinced with them actually.. but i like to try new things and not stick to the one i am used to. trying new things is like an exploration. its wonderful.

I like new things... provided they have been tested and proven to work. If I can read a review on them... even better.
Being the tester of new things can prove to be a very expensive exercise.
For instance... not many computer expert rush out to buy Windows Vista the day it comes out. They prefer to wait one year... so that all the novices can battle with it and report their problems to Microsoft.
One year later... Microsoft has most of the bugs out of it and only then the experts buy Vista.

I really like Vista. I had it on my laptop. I was living with a friend that owned the program and was able to add it. Later I had to reformat my computer and, of course, lost it. Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy my own copy.

I do love new products. I love to look at them and read all about it in the discription. However by doing that it usually stops me from buying the product because I either don't believe the claims or I don't think it will do a better job of something I already have. If I do think it will do a better job then I will buy one when my older product wears out. Do you buy something even if you don't need it? I don't do that to often as I am such a penny saver. Or I try to be I should say as I do splurge once in awhile.

Its not that I go out and buy a new product everytime I see one, but for example, if I go to the store for a cleaning product and see one that I haven't seen before, I am liable to try the newer product.

I love trying new things as well...for me maybe it's more trying a new food I've never dared tried before but on a whim will. As far as cleaning products. I've gotten a lot more conscientious about the "go green" thing. Rather then buy some VERY expensive "natural" product to clean with, I'll go back to some old cleaning remedies--the best is baking soda, white vinegar and even fresh lemons..and you know what? They work great. One major discovery was this. My drains have a nasty habit of clogging up real bad. In the past, I've relied on those harsh lye-type de-cloggers like Drano...well sure enough one night my tub decided to clog up. I didn't know it either...I had just taken a nice relaxing bath...and I fill my tub kind of full, and when I pulled up the stopper.....nothing...no water is going down...like crap! It meant my hauling out that water and dumping in the toilet...At the time I was low on funds and couldn't have bought Drano...then I remembered something a few folks here had mentioned when my drain had clogged up before...pour baking soda down the drain then add the white vinegar...yikes it fizzled like Mt. Vesuvius! And best yet...it completely declogged the drain without relying on harsh chemicals..in fact just last night I did a re-application of the baking soda and vinegar to keep my drain clear...Now who would have thought it? So that was a new experience for me that such a natural remedy would work!

What I would like to find is a remedy for garbage disposal smells. I have heard about using lemon, but I don't think that entirely works.
