Does it really pay off? Do you actually save money on day cares? Would it be great for all moms? Would all the kids in the world be better off?

Being a stay at home mom isn't for everyone, but it does have it's advantages.
I have 5 kids, so if I worked, I wouldn't be able to cover the cost of daycare. It makes much more sense for me to stay home.
I once had a part time job, and let my in laws babysit for free while I worked. This was allright during the summer months, but then I began to have some problems. I was forced to work on Sundays which is our family day. I would end up losing time with my husband because of my job. I also found it difficult to get the kids ready for school while I was working. I wasn't home at night to make them a good dinner, and give them their baths, and help them with homework.
So I stopped that job, and now I just focus on my kids and my home.

I think the more time you have to spend with your children, the more it benefits them as long as you are providing them sound care and are taking the time to develop them. I recently came out of the financial industry in a great career to stay home when I had my third child last November. I left a great paying job, but my husband and I were ready to make that sacrifice because I truly wanted to spend more time raising my own children. I always felt like I was missing out and my children were not learning the right things or the characteristics I wanted them to learn because we were both so busy working. I'm so glad I've made that choice and have actually great great ways to make a living from home!

for me it's worth it.
my son is 3 1/2 and I have been lucky enough to stay home with him the whole time.
and I am glad I have been able to because I get to see him grow up and be the one that's with him every day.
no one can love your child like you can.
if he was at a day care or baby sitter I would be nervous and paranoid the whole time wondering if he is ok.
I love that I have the chance to stay with him and be his mom and his teacher.
time flies by so fast and they grow up so fast and I'd hate to be out side of the home and later be regretting not being there.

For me yes being a stay at home mum is the best thing I would have no money left from my wages if I put them in day care not to mention childrens day care is my qualified job so im better off saving money and being at home with my own childre.
Its not like that for everyone and a child is better off with a parent who does their best to provide be that staying at home or working and cares for them no matter what.

Yes, because you get to really watch the kids and see them grow up. Also, you get to be a stage-mom for your kids at the school as well.
