Pudding was only 29 cents a box at the grocery store the other day so I bought a whole bunch. (I know, who buys 20 boxes of pudding? Me, because normally its $1 a box and it's a nice treat!) Last night I made these breakfast rolls where you use frozen bread dough & then sprinkle it with butterscotch pudding & butter & brown sugar...mmmm is that good! I also have a few boxes of jello in my cupboard from when my son had his tonsils taken out I need to do something with! So what recipes do you have for pudding and jello? I have seen them for cookies and cakes before. Can't wait to hear yours!

Get a yellow cake mix. Follow the directions on the back of the box. Instead of using the water I usually substitute it with pineapple juice or orange juice. Any juice would work. Now for the best part the pudding part A different spin on the icing - it's a great summer cake and really light. Make you pudding as directed I use vanilla pudding - either one larger box of pudding or 2 of the small boxes. Now let your pudding set for 5 minutes. After the five minutes add a container of cool whip to the pudding. Mix. Get a can of crushed pineapples and drain the juice ( this is the juice I usually put in the actual cake mix instead of the water) Now dump the pineapples in the pudding and cool whip mix and stir. Refrigerate until the cake finishes cooking and cools down completely. Now ice your cake with the pudding mix instead of using cake icing. It tends to be a little runny when you put it on the cake don't worry its suppose to be like that so ice it as fast as you can and than put the cake in the freezer for an hour, after that hour it will have set, than put your cake in the fridge. It's so simple and takes no time what so ever. Everyone loves this cake.

almost forgot you can also substitute the pineapple with strawberries instead - it's makes an awesome strawberry short cake. and use an angel cake mix instead of the yellow cake mix if using the strawberries instead.

Those rolls sound wonderful! Our favorite jello treat is when I use less water in the making, and then when it is set, I put it in the Magic Bullet cup with a little cream cheese and some yogurt and sometimes mix in some fresh fruit and whir it smooth. Then I put it back into the fridge to set again. Mousse, sort of. I used to waste time layering the different colors and textures, but our tastes are simpler than they used to be, so I get by with less effort...more time to myLot!

Your hubby must have a great sense of humor and he probably agrees with me that a plain dessert that tastes delicious is much better than a fancy one that tastes plain. It is nice, sometimes, to have a dessert that is both fancy and delicious, though. Lots of good ideas here.

Ok try a jello cake! Bake the cake as normal. Poke wholes in the cake on the top layer and the bottom layer if you want to do a layer cake, or you can do 1 square cake. Make the jello then poor into the wholes of the cake. Put in fridge to set. Take cake out and sit in a little water in the sink to loosen the cake. Then top with whipped cream. Nice non-sweet treat! You can also fix the jello and add fruit cocktail in it. My daughter loves that. Sorry I don't have pudding recipes. Good Luck with your son getting his tonsiles out.

Are there really recipes for Jello cookies and cakes? That's really interesting I always thought that Jello was meant to eat by itself, and I never knew it could be incorporated into other recipes!

My favorite jello recipe is lime jello with grated carrots, cottage cheese and walnuts. It's delicious! My mom used to make it for us. My stepmom gave me some yummy jello that she got from her hairdresser. Crush some pretzels, enough to cover the bottom of your jello dish. Mix strawberry jello with some frozen strawberries. Top the "crust" with some whipped topping and cream cheese, the low calorie type is fine. Pour the cooled jello mixture on top and fridge till it sets. It's great! You can try it with different flavors and fruits, too.

This might sound gross but I love to eat jello right out of the box. It's something I started as a kid when I swam competitively, we would bring boxes of jello for a treat. I don't do it too much anymore but if I need some energy it's a nice treat.

First of all, here is the link to the jello website and if you get real ambitious, it has a ton of recipes including my favorite with pudding on angel food cake. http://www.kraftfoods.com/jello/ Now here is a recipe that's NOT on there and I always get rave reviews - it looks so pretty and I could eat the entire pan myself! You'll notice I copied it from Cooks.com instead of typing mine out: Looks to be the same - use whatever flavors you want. SEVEN LAYER JELLO SALAD Printed from COOKS.COM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Layer - Black Cherry Jello 2nd Layer - Cherry Jello 3rd Layer - Lime Jello 4th Layer - Lemon Jello 6th Layer - Mixed Fruit Jello 7th Layer - Strawberry Jello Put 1st layer into 9 x 13 inch pan. Dissolve Jello with 3/4 cup boiling water, then add 3/4 cup cold water. Place in refrigerator until firm. Do next layer. Add 1/2 cup boiling and cold water and then 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk. Mix and place on 1st layer. Place in refrigerator. Continue with rest of layers. 2nd, 4th, and 6th layers have the Eagle Brand milk.

Well first, Walgreens had JEllo 5/$1 so I bought 10 (limit was 10) on one day, went back the next 2 days and got 10 each day! It is a great snack in every way you can think of! Why not have it on hand! The kids love it and what I like to do with it is get small jars (I saved the baby food jars - the small ones are 1/2 cup and the large ones are 1 cup) and make the jello and fill them and then just fill a shelf in the fridge with them -quick, easy, low cal, filling, fun snack anytime anyone wants it! I have tried Jigglers, but just more trouble than they are worth, but what I haven't tried and keep intending to iis to make them like popsicles. Put the jello in those freezer "make them yourself" popsicles containers. Fill with jello, put in the stick and see how it goes! I figure you'd need to make the jello a bit thicker, like maybe instead of 1 cup hot, 1 cup cold water, make it 1 cup hot and 1/2 or 1/3 cup cold so it holds shape. Have to try that, thanks for reminding me!

I remember as a child having strawberry banana jello with bananas and strawberries in it. I also remember raspberry jello with frozen raspberries in it. There was also a recipe which had orange jello, cranberry orange relish (you can make that using the recipe on the bag of ocean spray cranberries), add some chopped walnuts and celery and you have an interesting and refreshing salad.

Hi vera. What I do with this is easy and quick. With jello you can make a quick mousse this way: prepare your jello without add the cold water (only with the boiled water)this way you will get a half quantity of jello. Put it on liquefier with 1 box of cream of milk (you can do with iogourt too).Mix. You will get a frothy cream. Put in individuals bowls and let it freeze. Other thing you can do with: prepare your jello normaly and add some chopped fruits. With the pudding you can do many things like ice cream and stuffing cakes and donnuts. And you can do a simple pavĂȘ: you need rectangular biscuits and a rectangular dish. Prepare your pudding (I always use 2 savours). Imbibe quickly the biscuits in milk and dispose in the dish. Cover with the pudding. Make other layer with imbibe biscuits and cover with the pudding (other savour). Make other layer with biscuits and cover with whipped cream or melted chocolate. I hope this help you. cheers
