Do you volunteer? If so, please tell us where and what you do. If not, why not? I'm going to be starting to volunteer for Ovations for the Cure, which is a non-profit that raises awareness for ovarian cancer (which my grandmother died from). I'm going to be helping out in the office, and hopefully some special events - like the walk for ovarian cancer and the fashion show that they're going to be putting on as well. So tell us about your volunteering please!!!

Well in my university there is this place called the Community Outreach and they volunteer for a ton of things. I've been helping them out and volunteering since freshmand year whenever I can. I've gone to soup kitchens to give food to the less fortunate and I really like doing it. This coming year I am going to try and volunteer for other places and stuff including the soup kitchens because I like going to them.

That's great that people are starting volunteering when they're younger. Some people used to think it was only for retired people, but I don't think so. Everyone should volunteer, at least once in their life. It's a very humbling experience. It makes you appreciate life more.

I really enjoy volunteering because I get happy to know that I am helping people that need help. I've been volunteering at places since high school. I've enjoyed it a lot and I think I will keep voluntering whenever I can.

Yes, I agree with you that it is good to volunteer, not only to help others, but for all that you get out of it too. Volunteering is a win-win situation.

I've volunteered and fund-raised ever since I can remember. I've always been involved in Australia's Relay For Life, the event and the fund-raising and awareness for months before hand. I volunteer for the Red Cross Door Knock appeal, participate in World Vision's 40 Hour Famine etc. I also do volunteer work at our local theatre, doing front of house, backstage and ushering when there are shows on. =)

That sounds fun. I used to volunteer a lot for the local Amvet's, with all the different charity work that they do. I still do some, but not as much. They seem to be having trouble. They eith have too many chiefs and not enough indians, or vice versa. I will be doing more when I feel that I'm medically/mentally able.
