i dont find ogie alcasid and jolina magdangal fit to be judges of PINOY IDOL. i felt like channel seven just pick out the judges or they picked out jolina and ogie because they are both from channel seven.
if you have the chance to pick who among are artist are qualified to be judges of idol who are the people that will enter your mind?
i would have to suggest one of the Apo (jim, danny or boboy) i think they are good song writters and up till now their songs became popular when the new generations of bands revived it.
i would suggest i female singer who won also from a singing contest, regine is i good suggestion but based on what i read she was the first choice but she has a lot of concert in the US.
so my question is are you satisfied with ogie and jolina as judges? if not who are the people you think that can take those place.

As far as the show is concerned, I don't think the judges have made it more popular or exciting. I find the judges very boring and I don't understand, sometimes, why they like those singers who are not really that good. Well, that's subjective though. I hope they would be better and I am looking forward to watch the show finale.

sad for the kapuso network since the kapamilya network ay nauna,..mm??
am not a kapmilya nor a kapuso,..
but hey,..yah..' its been an issue sometimes when were practicing at our choir,..
,..specially jolina,...well not degrading her,..but i think it will be far better that she will only be a host than a judge,...her standards are quite low or inconsistent...
aw..//no offense..//
just sharing an opinion of mine guys,..hihihi.../

dont worry ken, this site is for opinions so what you think is welcome. i dont go for it also and i agree with what you said. have you read roniroxas response? she started singing in choir at age 9 and now a pro singer. and i think like you and her who understands music ( i too understands for i am a bassist in a band for 14 years now) can see that this chuva chu chu girl har har har is not fit to be a judge for a prestige contest like this

i havent watch the show yet and i dont think i want to. it sounds boring and i dont know if singers who wanted to try to make it big into the entertainment business will learn points from them. i dont think they can even give a good advice.

They three don't fit to be the judges at all. So lame that the network would also like to have a local version of Simon Cowell that they choose wyngard as one of the judges.
The rival Pinoy Dream Academy already got the country's best music icons. Ryan Cayabyab, Moi of the company ..And i heard Billy Crawford will be the host of PDA.

Pinoy Dream Academy is a singing reality show shown on ABS-CBN. The format is like those of Big Brother wherein they are housed on a "Academy" but the difference is that the scholars(contestants)are gonna through on a "training" to further enhance their talents & perform on a weekly basis in front of a crowd.
You won't be seeing any network entities in any of the judges in this show which makes it more interesting than Pinoy Idol.

same as what i think... jolina is in no position to be a judge... for one.. she has not achieved anything significant in the music industry! hehe . she is just an average singer....
ogie is okay i think... but there are many others who may be qualified than him too..

you got it there right chiyosa. an average singer is not fit to be a judge in a singing contest as important as pinoy idol. ogie is a good composer but not a good singer. it would be more challenging if martin, or gary are one of the judges. this two singers are truly good and perform well. contestant of idol will learn i lot from martin and gary

Hahahahha! That was my initial reaction when I read that Jolina will be a Pinoy Idol judge. What'll she do, judge the contestants' get up or something? Man, hasn't GMA 7 learned yet when they hand-picked the judges at the Binibining Pilipinas Pageant? Look what happened?
I agree with you in choosing any of the Apo Hiking society singers as they're really good song writers. Also, Regine Velasquez would be another qualified judge since she's been around in the business long enough to filter out good singers from bad singers. Other qualified judges, in my opinion, are Ms. Pilita Corales, Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, and Mr. Jose Marie Chan. They could also try any of the singers from the famous group "The Company".
Just my 2 cents.

why? what happened during the B. pilipinas contest? pour me soe details. i am not much of a local channel watcher. the only shows i watch is game ka na ba because of y wife and eat bulaga. so i really dont know what is happening. i dont even watch pinoy idol but of course saw the comercials thats why i found out who are the judges. see you also have good line ups to who will be ore fitted to be pinoy idols judge. there are a lot of talents here in the philippines. is jasin trias still around? why not get her than jolina... she gave pride to us at aerican idol so she knows how to judge the pinoy idols.

My initial reactions was: "Is she the new Paula Abdul?!" :D
I don't know what GMA 7 was thinking when they picked Jolina. I was really surprised when I heard the news, really surprised. She is not fit for a judge, since she is not a good singer herself (for me atleast).
Ogie, on the other hand, is not a good singer but a good composer. And I think there are a lot more deserving judge than him. But thinking about it, who could replace him? I mean, there are only a few credible male singers in GMA 7 (I think?) as compared to ABS-CBN 2.

har har har atleast i am not alone on this theory. i am no longer watching pinoy idol because i am not really satisfied with the judges. it is true that there are more credible singers at abs cbn compare to channel 7 but there are a lot more singers out there and composers who are not under contract with abs cbn, not landing with jolina and ogie. thanks a lot for the response

i agree!yeah, ogie is a good songwriter but gary v would've been a better judge.
and jim paredes would make a great judge. jolina isnt even a god singer. maybe they're really trying to find a paula abdul-ish judge. yeah jolina isnt as crazy as ms.abdul but she is a mediocre singer.

har har har if only they like a miss paula abdul-ish then i think they would rather get aiai instead, for i know all of aiais comment will be as hilarious as what paula is saying on american idol. oh goodness to all those who dont know miss paula abdul is a great performer. she is one of the highest paid choreographers of those singers who can dance.... like janet jackson.

i agree with you that channel seven picked only them because they are GMA's 7 talents. i agree with you on getting one of the apo. my suggestions will be a lot...lol. i am a professional singer and i wont waste my time singing if i know that jolina will be judging me. i am not boastful but atleast i want to be judged, i want to make sure i will learn something from it. why not get Jimmy Antiporda (remember him from neocolors?) he is agood composer too. i agree with dhangski she was suggesting verni varga. there are more popular singers that can give a lesson or two to all those who will join pinoy idol.

i know you that well roni, i know you wont waste your time belting it out when the one who will judge you sang CHUVA CHU CHU. har har har. jolina is cute i can say BUT not a signer for me and not even a performer. i really dont know what happened with GMA why jolina. whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy???

I agree with you, the only one fit to be a judge from the three is Wyngard. There's a lot of singers, songwriters, etc. that should be there to judge. Jim Paredes, Regine Velasquez, Verni Varga. But let's give credit to Ogie and Jolina, I think their doing their best.

ouch dhang har har har, my discussion is not about giving credit to ogie and jolina, because most of us agreed that they are not suit to be judges. of course they have to do their best because they are paid, do you think they will do that for free? i dont think so.
