Opinions On Scars On Broadway

Well for the people who don't know who Scars on Broadway is its the new band of System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan. If you haven't heard anything from them go to http://scarsonbroadway.com and you can hear the first song they've put entitled "They Say" So far Scars has played two shows, one at the Whiskey and one at Coachella Festival playing about 10 or 12 songs. These songs may not necesarilly make their debut album but they've been played in full. I've heard about half of their songs so far and I'm pretty impressed. My first impression from They Say was that Daron's vocals would drive the band and the instruments would stand back, but from the other songs the instruments do step up a bit and become less repeitive as "They Say" Scars has recently announced that their self-titled debut album will come out on July 29th and Daron seems anxious to tour following. In comparison to System its similr, yet different and if you didn't like Daron's voice much in System you might not like it much here although it has improved a lot since Mezmerize/Hypnotize.
