although i don't like it all, i know that i should force my self to consume calcium milk everyday due to some problem in my knee. however, i also read some health articles that its necessary to consume milk consume for daily to avoid osteoporosis when we are old later on.
i know its not good taste in drinking calcium milk but i consume it at least once a day cause trully i just dislike to drink any kind of milk actually . so what about you? do you consume calcium milk from now on or just delay it?

I do not like milk at all and you know what, I do not drink it. calcium can be found in other source like vegetables and fruits. also, cheese are rich in calcium. I think you can drink mild weekly and eat cheese if you want to.

I agree with Georgie (can I call you that? :) ) there are other sources of calcium besides milk. In fact, I think I heard somewhere that 1 slice of cheddar cheese is wqual to one glass of milk (is this true?)
If not, you can always take tablet supplements...

I don't care much for milk, but I can drink it, you are supposed to have 2 to 3 servings a day, but you have to realize it can come in different forms such as yogurt which I love, and cheese. There are also calcium pills. I try to drink milk, but I can't say I always do, and sometimes I don't feel like eating yougurt, and I'm not a big fan of cheese, except when it is melted on something. I would much rather drink regular milk than flavored, I never liked chocolate milk, and strawberry milk made me sick once, and ever since then I couldn't drink it.

It is good to consume some kind of calcium even if its the pill.
My dad is going through a lot of bone problems now because he never took in much calcium and he's only 60 years old. Is bone are just falling about and causing other problems. So yes it is good to have some kind of calcium.

I seldom drink milk, for the physical problem. But I know,
there is no need to consume calcium milk everyday. since we
can get calcium from other foods everyday. In fact, if you just eat reasonably for every dish, without too much preference , then the nutrient will be enough for you.

I am trying the Special K weight loss challenge and it requires you to use whole milk with your cereal. It is very high in calcium and very good for strong bones. Actually studies have shown that just by drinking atleast 3glasses of milk a day you can and will have stronger bones.

It's not necessary to drink milk every day in order to get your calcium. There are other sources for it. Any of your dairy products have it in it including cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, and butter. Any of these can be used to give you the calcium you need. You can also get it from a pill such as a daily vitamin with minerals or a straight calcium pill.
Also if you are worried about osteoporosis you want to make sure you get magnesium in your diet as well. It helps the calcium to work and helps increase bone density. You can read about it here including how much you need per day: http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article1080.html

Do you mean milk from cows? Well we do not call it calcium milk, we just call it milk. There is goat milk and there is soy milk, but if you mean you hate milk period, well you could eat cheese or have yogurt, but those come from milk as well, so you will be in deep trouble. You can get calcium from broccoli, plus sea food, but you would have to consume a lot of that, and you might not like having it a lot, so you would go and hate it too. Now if you were allergic to milk, or lactose intolerance, then the doctor could tell you what to substitute. Taking calcium pills are not as effective. You could use it in puddings, or have chocolate milk.
Also since you live in a warm country, it could be that the date on the container is a little off.
I rather suspect that you are probably lactose intolerant, so I have a link here that might help.

I am not fond of pure milk drinks. I can take milk if it is mixed with others like in chocolate or coffee or with shakes, or halo-halo and some dessert which milk is an ingredient.
I know calcium is important in our body, but there are other food that are rich in calcium too like cheese, seafoods, etc. which we can take in place of milk. Also we can take calcium tablet too.

The only way that I have milk is in my coffee, or the odd time I will have it on cereal. I could not just drink it on its own, I do not really like it. But I guess that the amount of coffee that I drink and then having milk in it all the time, I must be getting at least a bit of calcium!!

To avoid osteoporosis, you need both calcium and magnesium and vitamin D. I buy it as food supplement from gnld.com - the minerals should be in a form that your body can use them easily.
Milk is not always a good solution, as it also has protein that takes away much of the effect.
I guess there is both calcium and magnesium in vegetables, so if you eat them with cold pressed oils or unheated nuts, you body may benefit from them.

I have never ever liked the taste of milk, so I have never been one to drink milk. I don't mind milk products like cheese, chocolate, or even whipped cream, and ice cream, just not the taste and texture of plain milk. Intead of drinking milk, I eat a lot of dairy products.

Hi plumwish07,
Listen to the responses that you have received to your post here, plumwish07, because many of them are quite right.
Firstly, you do not "need" milk to get your dietary requirements of calcium. That is just a load of propaganda hogwash pushed by the dairy lobby to persuade you to buy their products.
You'll get all the calcium that you need just from green leafy vegetables, as well as from many other sources.
Secondly, if you don't want to get osteoporosis, then DO NOT drink milk, because that's guaranteed to give you osteoporosis. The constituents of cow's milk are not intended for human consumption, and it will wreck your body if you keep on drinking it.
If you have trouble swallowing that, then do your own research on it tosatisfy yourself. I'd just suggest that, as a starting point, you consider the rates of osteoporosis in countries that don't traditionally drink cow's milk (ie, ZERO). And then check out the rates in countries that do drink cow's milk (eg, most Western countries).
Suffice to say, if your knees are giving you problems, forget about drinking cow's milk, because that will only make matters worse.
Try eating more fruits and vegetables, get lots of non-impact exercise like walking, cycling and swimming, and maybe consider a food supplement like Glucosamine. Also try rubbing some Comfrey and Emu Oil into your aching joints.
But don't waste your money being duped by the dairy industry's lying BS - you don't need cow's milk in any shape or form, and you're actually better off without it.

no, it is not necessary to drink milk in order to receive adequate calcium. not only can you take other milk products such as yogurt, ice cream, or cheeses - you can also get calcium in greater quantities by eating such dark leafy greens as broccoli.
I do not drink milk

Hi plumwish!! How are you??
Calcium is very much required as everyone knows. But it depends on your calcium requirements what amount of calcium you need.Shell fish and tuna are rich in calcium.Soy milk is also very rich in calcium. But you dont require to drink milk much if you already have a balanced calcium diet.
Have a good day.
