I love thunder and lightning storms..
I love the power of it and find
it exciting..even as a small child
when my sisters were terrified I just loved
to hear the crashs and bangs and count
to see how close it was..It reminds me
of the old joke below..
"One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a
mother was tucking her small boy into bed. She was
about to turn off the light when he asked with a
tremor in his voice, "Mommy, will you sleep with me
tonight?"
The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug.
"I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's
room."
A long silence was broken at last by his shaking
little voice, "The big sissy." '
lol

I love that joke. It was cute. Anyway, I like thunder and lightning storms as long as I don't have to be in a car when they are happening. I think the rain that comes with them is really relaxing. Another good thing about thunderstorms is that they don't scare our dog.

I like your joke. I always found thunder and lightning a little exciting, but my favorite thing was when the lights went out at night. We got to carry candles around and do things that didn't require electricity. My mother was very creative and always came up with fun things to do.

I do the same thing; especially when I found out as a little girl how to count between each lightning flashes to see how close it came to our house. The only time I get a little scared is when the flashes are right upon us. What I dearly love to do still; and I'm 50, is to sit in a car when it's raining. Lay my head back and close my eyes. It's so relaxing. Reminds me of the calm you get when you watch fish in a tank.

I really liked that joke, raydene. Thunderstorms are a different story though. I have been terrified of thunderstorms since I was a child. In fact there was a time when I had to depend upon mild sedatives just to get me through them. I have since became more able to tolerate them, but I still get a bit nervous when I know that one is approaching.

It's awe inspiring. It's the display of the power of mother nature. I mean such huge electric jolts and noise from just the collision of atoms, something so small that we cannot even see under the electron microscope.

I am not afraid of lightning and thunder at all. I loe watching the lightning, and I love hearing the thunder. Of course I'm inside when all o that is going on, so thre really isn't anyting to worry about unless I've let the computer on.

I enjoy thunder and lightening storms but my dogs do not. They even know when a storm is coming before it gets here. One of my dogs will sit in my lap during the storm. I don't mind but he weighs 93 pounds and if the storm is long, he gets heavy. LOL

When I was a little girl, I was terrified of them. I remember one bad storm when we had to go to the basement until it passed. We kept a globe on a desk there. My mother picked it up and said she could turn us and the world upside down. She turned the globe upside down and at that moment the roof blew off in the storm. I think I peed my pants.
Now I love thunderstorms. They make me feel sleepy. I enjoy curling up with a book during storms. If I had a porch and a swing, I'd be sitting on the porch swing and watching the storm.

I never really was afraid of it, but I am more leary about them not. The storms are just getting more and more violent. It seems every thunderstorm we have is a severe one.

Honestly, I am scared of it. Since I have children I have to act like I am not. I am suprized at times to see the number of adults who allow their children to play outside in a thunder and lightening storm. One day, near my old townhouse, there where 2 kids sitting under a tree watching the storm. I told them to go home it was dangerous.

We were taught when we were young that the thunder and lightening was the devil fighting with his wife...we were set a good example as children often imiatate what they see..if they see fear in their parents over thunder and lightening then they too could "inherit" this trait...be brave always
