my dog scared me.

yesterday evening my dahtsun scared me. she is old, about 12 years old. anyway she ran under our shed in the backyard and started barking. I called for her and she wouldn't come, she kept barking, then I heard her cry. My husband started digging a hole around where we heard her, we see her and she was digging. she wouldn't come out, my husband had to pull her out, even still she wanted to go back in. I don't know what she was after, and she seems to be doing ok. but she really scared me.
Has your dog ever scared you is some way?? what did you do??

One of my dogs will go outside and start barking like crazy too. Usually it is after another animal of some sort. Did you look at your dog to see if maybe a snake had bitten her?? Or it just could be that she smelled something under the shed and was trying to dig it out. A cat or something could have been under there at some other time and your dog just smelled it. It is very scary when they are barking at something at you don't know what it is.
I think you did the right thing pulling her out of there. That is what I would have done myself.
