Butcher, baker, candlestick maker? What shall we be today?

I've been at home all day today with the kids, watching them go about their normal business of wrecking the house and terrorising the animals. I've been mulling over what their skills appear to be and having some fun thinking about what professions they may choose as they grow up.
Will my toddler become a mountaineer, as he wants to climb on *everything*? Or perhaps he'll be a drummer, as he enjoys walloping my pans with a wooden spoon. But oh, if he likes playing with pots and pans perhaps that means he'll want to be a chef. No, his shrieks can shatter glass so that's obviously an opera singer in the making.
The eldest has spent the day playing lego and racing his brother around in the pushchair. So does that make him an architect in the making? Or perhaps it's his racing skills that I should be wondering about and he'll be the next Forumla One champ. But then, a pushchair, hmmm ... Maybe that means he'll enjoy being some sort of carer.
It's been fun to ponder but there's only one certainty. As long as they grow up to do something that they enjoy, then I don't care what that is.
Of course, their Dad reckons I've got world leaders in the making ... but we'll see about that!
What do you reckon your kids are leaning towards right now?

Purring furballs. My kids are all cats.
Lessee, seriously, Rygel is a good kitten caretaker, he'll be a teacher. Oliver likes to wash the roomie's face, he could be a groomer. Timus we already know is a hairdresser. Sassy used to do hair, but she's now retired since she's old. We suspect that Tony will be an exterminater, he's really into catching bugs right now. Nino was a strong arm man for the mob before he was disarmmed and retired.
I think Scamp might be a gigalo, he's so funny when he wants a belly rub!

I'm glad you enjoyed that. You know, I used to think that Rygel was going to be a terrorist, but he's come around.
Tuti is a massuse, she gives good massages. Rio and Nef don't need a job, they could be trophy wives, but if they did, they'd be models or movie stars. Ping could also be a movie star, but he'd be the co-star cause he's on the small side. Pong, on the other hand, would happily be a door stop if someone would groom him and feed him while he was doing it. Oliver would be one of those male models, he's so handsome with all his fluffy black and white tuxedo fur.

When they are kneading like that they are reverting back to the happiest times in their kitten-hood - feeding time. There's the baby, all snug and warm against mom, getting yummy food into the tummy and kneading helps stimulate the food. So, yeah, that look can be borderline obscene. But its just joy.
The thing about Tuti is that she doesn't put her nails in me, its all toes! No, she's not declawed, the people I got her from couldn't even afford to spay her. I got 2 4yr old females with siamese in them unspayed - I don't know how they lived thru that!

My 12 year old daughter has a talent and a jou for writing. I am hoping that someday she will be a Best Selling author.
My 10 year old son, loves video games, and is really good at math. He says he wants to be a video game designer when he gets older. He is also brilliant on the computer, so he will likely do something with computers.
My youngest has been obsessed with trains from the minute he could communicate, and at 4 years old still loves them. Perhaps he will be a conductor some day.

My son's been set on being a professional footballer for years - he loves playing but isn't that good though, though obviously I've never let him know that. But the other day he was watching a programme about animal parks and they were scooping up the manure and I made a face and he said he wouldn't have a problem cleaning up animal poop. So I said, oh maybe you should be a zoo keeper when you grow up ..... and no he's adamant that he will be! I can quite see him doing that as well - he's not fantastic with people but is great with animals.
My daughter is a drama queen ..... not sure where that's going to take her!

My husband and I always talk about what we think the kiddos will become. Now our oldest is going to be a teacher. We can see it in her. She tries to teach her brother and sister how the correct way to do things and she loves to give them orders so maybe a place in the Military. Our son, well destruction of some sort. Wether be wrecking cars or demolishing a building. He is handy man smart. We also see possible historian as well as he loves the Titanic and wants to know everything he can about the famous ship. Which leaves our youngest one. She is a toughie has she is into soooo many things. She likes to have fun and laugh so maybe a comedian or she may take her soccer talents and pursue athletics. The fun we have just talking about what they may become. One of the any joys of parenthood.

Well, all the things that you've described are just things that kids normally do to explore their environments. My kid likes to build things with legos, blocks, or anything else that's lying around. He also likes to climb and bang on things. I bet you've got a lot of boys. Maybe one of them will turn out to be a stockbroker or an accountant. What would they be doing to hint you to their future profession then, playing with a calculator and trying to read the new york times?
